Any ideas on whats causing this noise?
Alright so I just noticed this noise last night and I haven't done any hard driving or anything that would cause it. It's really high pitched and sounds like a high pitched car alarm, it also has a rhythm to it so I know it's something that's rotating it's not a constant high pitch like if I was on the brakes or something. I can really only hear it outside of the car like if I drive next to a wall or something it gets really loud from the echo, it only happens between like 5 mph and 20 mph, braking, coasting, speeding up, whatever I'm doing between those speeds the noise is there.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

You might be low on radiator fluid causing your water pump to squeal. Could be a bearing going out on one of your pulleys.

Re: Any ideas on whats causing this noise?
Could be several things. A pulley in the engine compartment like Jerry said, a wheel bearing, your throw out bearing, transmission, rear end, etc etc. Can you narrow down the area where the noise is coming from?

chevy fuel pumps make a noise like that when theyre about to go out. never heard a Ford do it though. also, you said it had a rhythm so it could be a wheel bearing. does it speed up when you do?
Re: Any ideas on whats causing this noise?
Well I went to go try and get a video of it and it wasnt there anymore so I'll just listen and see if it comes back. I cleaned my car real good yesterday so maybe when I was cleaning the wheels some wax or something got on something. I dont know we'll see. Thanks everyone!

you said you hear it when driving against a wall, do you know if the noise is more predominant on one side or the other?
Re: Any ideas on whats causing this noise?
Sounds like a muffler bearing to me. Maybe a very slim chance the blinker fluid is low.

time to trade out that X-Pipe for an O-pipe. Cuts the rasp down 100%...

Sounds like something in your exhaust is rubbing somewhere on another piece of metal. Pretty sure the sound is metal on metal rubbing. I could barely hear it, but thats what it sounds like to me.
