Hey, Leonard are you going on the cruise next weekend? Cause we need ya there buddy.
Doubt I will be able to make the cruise, Lori is going to San Diego Saturday so I would have to bring 3 kids with me, don't think they would like that.
As for evo, do some research. You will be pretty safe if you get a package deal like Paul got because nobody at evo have anything to do with the tune since they have Jon Lund tuning. I have heard numerous horror stories of work they done there, two twin turbo motor on two seperate vehicle's, both cust spent upwards of 50k there! Evo basically told one of them to pick it up cause they couldn't get it to run right, come to find out the brand new motor was shot. EVO clamed Al Papito did the short block, but nothing was even balanced, looked like a 5 year old put it together. Funny thing is, both guys motors lasted 1000 miles with same identical problems. Just be careful out there, I have had nothing but good luck with lethal, vmp and jlp.
this is why i went with justin starkey at VMP hes tweaked my tune twice now and sent it via email i ordered everything i could from him. you get to talk to him not get the run around.

Funny thing is I have never even talked to Justin before, just emails. Never had one problem, sometimes it takes him a few days to update tunes but he does send them. Like I said, lethal, vmp and jlt are all very good in my opinion which means squat lol!

I consider him and Justin the best in the gt500 crowd, I tried contacting Lund twice on tunes via email and never got response back. Pretty sure Paul said he can be hard to get ahold of at times, but he knows his stuff!

Staying away from the Monoblade....have heard there are issues with it...and its very hard to tune. The L&M and VMP throttle body are showing great gains and are less troublesome.
Pulled this from a reliable source
"From my understanding the FRPP CJ/Accufab and monoblades commonly have to have the opening speeds changed within the main tune file (not via handheld by the end-user). Slow-speed opening of the blade with a Mono has to be really slow from my understanding.
Most of the "retuning" that's mentioned was done for Monoblade customers and thus, when they change to a dual bore (LM/VMP) they have to go back to the "stock" Ford parameters.
Basically some of the TB mfg. didn't get things correct to begin with and the tuners had to make up for driveability shortcomings caused by the product on their end."
A lot of Monoblade purchasers are switching to the L&M and VMP and are much happier and seeing great numbers.

Re: My next and future mod list
monoblade is a on/off throttle body, very touchy and very hard to tune if not done right. Better choices out there for a daily driver like the l&m or vmp versions that have much better throttle response.

Hey I just recently had the Shelby radiator and heat exchanger installed over the holidays while I didn't have to work. Let me say that radiator is a beast...just fits. FYI you'll probably need to buy the Shelby reservoir 3 tank set with this mod. My stock tank is almost touching the tubing behind. I'll probably buy the new tank set soon, but it's like $800-900.00...not cheap. Oh and one nice touch about this piece is if you look through the meshing on the lower grill you can clearly see the SHELBY lettering that's painted on the radiator.

Re: My next and future mod list
Yea, those shelby tanks are nice but not 800-900 nice, I would get "The Tank" one that is one unit which also works with the shelby radiator. Problem is I just can't justify to spend that kind of coin of something just for looks yet, rather put that to some more more hp! :)

I agree with you as you can't ever have enough power. I'll check out the tank your referring to...I just figured to keep as much Shelby stuff on it as possible. Most of the stuff is overpriced though. I could have just bought the C&R radiator which is the same exact one I got from the Shelby store...only difference is Shelby name painted on. Did any of you get the signed dash plaque from Shelby?....it's only $345.00. lol I just ordered a Shelby certificate...luckily I got mine for free...only had to pay for shipping.
Hey I meant to ask you where did you get your radiator cover from? I saw some nice fiberglass ones that bangastang sells pre-painted to match the color scheme of your car. I was stuck deciding between that one or a carbon fiber one since I already have the chin spoiler, side rockers and mirror covers on.
I need to quit spending so much money on my Shelby so I can save for the Raptor I want to get hopefully this year. :)

Re: My next and future mod list
Has anyone seen the 2007-2009 stock GT500 wheels in high gloss black with machined lip from Ford Racing? I've never seen how they look on and I'm considering getting a set since I have black stripes. Plus you just don't see this wheel ever. All I've seen are powdercoated stock wheels, but I prefer the machined lip. I also like the black 20" Steeda Spyder wheels.

Re: My next and future mod list
Got the radiator cover from jlt, it was a nice piece and added something different. The bangastang one is nice also since it is one piece.
As for the plague, hell no, 345 for that, yea right! The only reason I got this car is cause of the 5.4 supercharged motor, could care less if it had shelby on it, not like I got it for a investment. All the shelby stuff is way overpriced, never got one thing from them yet. I will stick with jlt, lethal and vmp for my stuff. Here is the tank, still overpriced in my mind but what can you do.

Thanks for the link. That seems to be "The End All" concerning coolant tanks for the GT500. The Cobra R had the 5.4L as well. Wonder why they didn't tune it for more than 385/390hp it came with out of factory...love that car. What tire width are you running in the rear? What setup would you recommend for me? I've still got stockers on and yeah yeah I know I need to lower the car as well. FRPP handling pack has come down in price. Use to be like $1700 and I can get it for like $1200 or 1300 now. What lowering springs did you use? Eibach prostreet??

Ya probably don't want to use leonards puller. Lol. It is in need of a couple replacement pieces. But fear not. Greg has one I'm sure you might be able to borrow that is in good working order.
