Re: New Mods Update #2
[img][/img]
New black SVT Shelby wheels arrived today. I decided to keep the stock look of my Shelby. Yes I could have taken any route with endless customization, but I really like the stock '07-'09 wheels. Since everyone seems to be going with either 19s or 20s I'm sure the 18s will eventually become rare and more extotic as time goes on. LOL
Now I need to decide on rubber... So far MT's or Nittos are at the top of the list. I've kept the stock Good Year's on since I don't drive the car much....also can't make a damn decision.

You want a drag car or a trak car? I like my Niitos for the conering ability. They also get better traction in a straight line, but DRs would be better....

I want both.. LOL. I think I'll be fine with Nitto's...little more versatile of a tire for road driving. What series and size of Nittos are you running on the stock wheel?? I like the INVO 295's, but they won't recommend anything over a 285 for the 9.5 wheel.

Yes! And another reason why I don't drive that often to help keep that new car feel intact...haha

Nope.. :( My car won't even be close to getting finished in time for Ford Shelby Meet. I've decided to send the wheels off to Weldcraft...it's like a 5 to 6 week wait. Oh well...

Of course count me in. I keep all of my stock parts or at least try to. I'll def. be keeping/storing the stock wheels and tires it came with. Too bad they didn't offer these black stock wheels as an option up front when car came out.

Re: New Mods Update #2
I've decided what tires I'll be putting on my black stock GT500 wheels when they arrive back from Weldcraft. I'm going with the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's: 315/30/18 Rear - Front 255/40/18

Re: New Mods Update #2
im not a fan of wheel widening but some times its the only choice you have when people dont make the right wheel in the size you need....
how wide you want? 325's fit with alittle work.... personaly if your gonna push alot of power a DOT soft compound tire is the only smart choice. if i didnt drive my car so much it would be on soft compound for road racing.

I felt I didn't really have a choice if I wanted to keep the stock style wheels on the car. I trust Weldcraft...lots of happy customers so far. At first I was going to put 305s on the 9.5 rim, but chose not to even though people have found success...it's still not approved. Since I'm going through the pain of having them widened to 11inches I might as well go a little bigger than the 305s....not sure I want to go past 315s right now. May do the 315 MT Streets in rear and keep stock size front. I thought the PS2's would be a great overall tire just for driving around.

I have yet to put the car on a dyno, but need to so I know the exact numbers. I'm running the stock Eaton Roots blower with the Steeda pulley and JLT cold air kit....this is the best mod for adding power without swapping blowers. At the crank I'd guess somewhere around the 650ish range. After power train loss I'm not sure.

Youre in the ballpark. Figure about a .15% drivetrain loss. Most are dynoing in the 540 (give or take) rwhp, which equates to 635 flywheel hp
540 / .85 = 635

Re: New Mods Update #2
Thanks guys. If I'm not mistaken I remember most places that had the pulley were advertising 140+ hp gain when combined with cold air and a good tune of course. All I remember is that I could really tell a difference in the car when I drove it after the installation.
