TULSA, OK -- An unidentified man is dead after crashing his car into a south Tulsa apartment building early Thursday morning.
Tulsa Police say the man, who is in 30's, was driving a Ford Mustang Cobra northbound on Memorial at a high rate of speed. Police began a pursuit, but lost sight of the vehicle.
Witnesses flagged down officers and saying they saw the Mustang drive though the Eton Square Shopping Center.
Police say the car went through the lower part of the Eton Square Six Cinema sign, hit a dirt embankment and went airborne.
The car then hit a building at the Eton Square apartment complex about 25 feet off the ground, knocking a hole in the wall of an apartment, before landing upside down.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman inside an apartment was asleep at the time of the accident.
Police say she was not seriously injured.
The name of the man is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

Two die in Tulsa wrecks
A car hit and caved in a unit at One Eton Square Apartment, 8111 E. 60th St., at about 12:15 a.m. Thursday while speeding north on Memorial Drive. The driver, Larry Steven Dible Jr., 28, died at the scene. SHANNON MUCHMORE / Tulsa World

A Tulsa man and a Bartlesville woman died Wednesday evening after two car wrecks in the southern Tulsa area.
Larry Steven Dible Jr., 28, died immediately when his car hit and caved in a first floor apartment at One Eton Square, 8111 E. 60th St., just after midnight, Tulsa Police Sgt. Robert Rohloff said.
A woman inside the apartment at the time received a minor cut to the hand but was otherwise OK, he said.
Police saw Dible northbound on Memorial Road near 71st Street, revving his engine and traveling at an extremely high rate of speed. He hit a grass embankment in the 6000 block of Memorial Road, cleared a fence and hit the apartment complex nearly 20 feet in the air before spinning and hitting the lower floor apartment, Rohloff said.
Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. Dible has two previous DUI arrests this year and was driving with a revoked license, Rohloff said.
Also, Mary Katherine Kitchens, 86, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. John Medical Center after the 5:45 p.m. crash at South Sheridan Road and 106th Street North in Owasso, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The car in which she was riding failed to yield at a stop sign while westbound on 106th Street North and was struck by another vehicle traveling north on South Sheridan Road, according to the report.
The driver of the first vehicle and another passenger where taken to the hospital. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were not injured, troopers said.
All were wearing seatbelts, and the airbags in the second vehicle deployed, according to the report.

His last name is really Bible. A few of my friends knew him and said he had a red 94-95 cobra.

Very true, Jerry, reminds me of one here in the city that was racing 130 mph, lost it, hit a bridge pillar, waste of a very young life.
This is exactly why we have sanctioned locations for racing. Why we do NOT condone speed on the streets.

Re: cobra crash
Two prior DUIs this year?? Further grounds for new legislation requiring the immediate impoundment of the vehicle upon driver's arrest for DUI. Glad he didn't take anyone out with him.

Exactly, the only reason you survive an accident in a Roush is it doesn't go fast enough to get hurt.

Don't forget the two brothers that got the vet airborne down there last year too. That was a nasty one as well.
The sad thing about all of these stories is it didn't have to happen. IF YOU ARE DRINKING, DON'T DRIVE!! It's that simple.

I never met Larry either, but I have seen him around a few times. He seemed like a good guy. Goes to show you that a few bad decisions can really turn peoples lives upside down.
A few years ago, I had a close call while I was drinking and driving. Since that night, I refuse to get in a car being driven by anyone who has been drinking.

Re: cobra crash
yea well the car is for sale and it is in your backyard (Tulsa OK). It is at the CoPart yard there. That is how I found it. It will be auctioned off soon and it is too far away from me for me to be completive so if any of you want to try to get it go to www.copart.com. I have been watching these Cobras for some time and they don’t really go cheap. I think this one will go for about $3,500. Kind of risky for me because I can’t go and “kick the tires”. There are a lot more pictures there also.
Also don’t go thinking that the winning bid is all that you pay even if it is across the street from you you need to figure at least another $500 for different fees and there are several hoops that you will need to jump through to bid.
I am not sure that this is the car that this post is about but it was sold in early July in Joplin MO it was recked in mid July and is now in the yard in Tulsa . If somebody has a carfax account they can do a vin check on it I guess.

The motor is the only thing left....
I'm betting some poor soul died in this car. Rollovers in a verts don't usually have a happy ending. Kinda creepy to buy a car knowing that.
