I'm definitely in. That was half the plan when I got my car. Unfortunately the other half of the plan was suspension, 373 gears, and Stage 2 tune. Maybe start at the end and work backwards?

Whats the Stage 2 tune add to the car? Smaller pulley and tune?

If you you might add that first and see how it changes the quickness...then decide if you still want to go steeper on the gears with 3.73:1.

Suspension goodies are always welcome!! Stiffer lower control arms, Adjustable upper Control arm, Adjustable shocks, etc etc

Stage 2 is a pulley, tune, and cold air intake. It's give me 650 ponies. Problem is you need to do the suspension first. Can't use the 500 ponies I have now until I get into 3rd gear. You can forget turning off the TCS.

The upper and lower control arms are a must. Eliminate wheel hop, track straight during burnouts, and lets you put the hp to the road. Not sure the slicks would work too well at Hallett.....

I believe Brent was refering to the drag strip thumbsup

But yes...some adjustable shocks, lowering the car a bit, Upper control arm, lower control arms, adjustable Pan Hard bar and brace, Maybe some bigger front and rear sway bars, or an ANTI-ROLL package.....that car would be a blast!! Hell I bet its a blast now!!!

Yeah, I know Brent was referring to the dragstrip. I was sort of stating my preference for the track. Yeah, the car is a blast now, but I got a ride in this Orange Beast about 9 months ago:

http://tulsacarfx.com/carfx1/index.php

I got back in my car and it felt like a total punk to me. It took me two days to get off of the adrenaline high of riding in that thing. The real eye opener was the cornering ability with that suspension, not to mention the way it put the 700+ ponies to the pavement!

I like the drag strip more I think because it is more accessable to us here in tulsa but I do love to take the turns too I just never get the chance. I think this would be a blast to do though. But for every weekend fun the slicks would get more use I would think. That is why I am working on getting drag radials and gears into mine.

Yea that would be cool too. We can all go learn to drive at the one on this thread then rent the track later in the season and just have a Track day between us. I would be all for that.

Check out the Hallet Raceway link:

http://www.hallettracing.net/

Looks like if you rent on a Saturday or Sunday and can get 15 cars to participate, it would run about $250 a car.

It was The first (KIT) on night ryder and they forgot to take the ATTACK mode out of it. Hydraulics were a little tricky but in the end it just took a couple more toothpicks and it was perfect.

lol!

I am bringing this back to the top. I think someone should move this to the cruise ideas area so it can be re visted when spring rolls around. I definately want to check into doing this.

Hallett has a COMMA race March 21, 22.

http://www.hallettracing.net/hsts.html

If we got to work on this right now, we might be able to get a spot for our cars by then. Any takers?

Looks like $35 for a year COMMA membership, and $95 for 5 - 15 minute track sessions. Total $130.
