Mods VS Rods Race

Okay guys we put this on last year through okdhm.com and we are wanting to put another one on.. Who all on here would be interested in coming out again? I know some of u came out last year and we appreciate that but we would like a much bigger event this year! I believe the date would be Septemberish or around when it was last year (I don't remember ).. Jst trying to get a good gooo at it this year again and find out who would be doing the shirts and all again... Thanks for your time and if anyone has any idea's throw them up...

I like the idea...just wish some of the faster mods show up so Im not racing a 9sec car like last year...I got lucky and the Rod broke hehe

Im in. But like Grabber said the field was a bit lopsided. Without faster mods I would suggest doing heads up with a twist. Perhaps having different time categories? 12.99-14.00 etc so on and so forth. This would make for more exciting races. Seems like its a waste if the first 6 qualifying spots were faster than 11 seconds. I think I qualified 5th overall for the mods and was still racing an 11 second car on the rod side. Or perhaps you could group up people with NA cars stock displacement and power adder cars? I dunno just some ideas to make it more interesting.

i would be up for racing this year!. i'll come join in though i am seet up for road racing

J/k...I thought it was a fun event with lots of potential! Hopefully this year the two TT cobras from OKC can make it out to help us out! If they would have been there last year, it would have made the rest of the field matchup a little better. Still would have been a slaughter, but at least the mods could have won maybe two races instead of one!!!

But anyways, count me in again for this one too!

If there are enough qualifying races, there won't be any rods left, they will all be on the trailer.


Im down, I had fun at the event and would do it again, but lets make the races a little more even.

The ONLY way i see to make this even is to NOT allow the pushrods to race... HEHE HE J/K! We'll get with everyone and try to figure something out though... Someone needs to find some fast mod cars thats all...

He almost finished the 1/4 before I reached the 1/8th!!

It was only a 2.83 second and 28 mph difference! Maybe if he would have missed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th it would have been close!

the problem there is most of the mod guys don't want their cars to be that fast due to still driving them daily. the guys that have pretty dedicated track cars that are still "technically" street legal usually are at the big races.

Well well i love to see talk about the race this early . I put this together last year with some help from some of the other mustang clubs mainly OKDHM.

I do agree it was lopsided and will alwyas be that way do to the MASS amount of faster pushrod cars ( they have been in the mix since 1932) lol . It would have been worse if i had not have taken $$$ out of my pocket and put up a match race purse for the bad mama jamma turbo cars that came out .

I have a couple idea's we will kick around . One being having what is called a quick 8 or 16 type race . This will take the bad boys and let them race a competetive class . Then the rest of the cars after that maybe take like last year and match 1 vs 1 but do it on a dial in type race . this will keep the racing close and make for a better race . If i was to do this it would make it a race with a true winner and a class winner ( ie. mod or rod ) for the team trophy . Just an idea . Lemme know what you guys think and also what other ideas you have .

I like the Idea of the dial in bracket racing. I think it would have been alot more fun for everyone last year if it was set up that way. Just my .2 cents

if theres a bracket setup or a close race type setup, ill do it. otherwise, i dont want to come out just to get murdered. im just sayin...

I'm in as long as I am not in Germany this time.. lol..

Does it have to be gas powered?? I know there are a couple of Ford powerstrokes out there that could give some Push rods a run for there money

I believe it just has to be Ford powered.
