Hallet is awesome!! If your not running the car...you should still come out. You could be a passenger in one of our club members rides on the track...its a great experience.

Is there a reason your not wanting to do hallet?

Only thing that is really important to do other than normal maintenance is to flush the brake lines and put in some hi-temp Ford brake fluid and make sure there is more than half of the original pad depth left on all 4 corners.

It IS critical for the S197's to remember to turn traction control "OFF" before going out each time. If you don't you will ruin your rear rotors in a day or less.

Yes turn the TC Off!

The stock brakes are good for about 3 very hard laps at best. I have Hawk HPS pads and after market rotors and mine lasted about 6 very hard laps before they went to the floor. This was running with the big boys and their full race cars. Long story...

I am really thinking about doing hallett now.. I need some tires though if I am going to do that.. And I might buy some drilled rotors for it. I dont know how good they are but there are several kits on ebay that com with all 4 rotors and pads for like $159

Every veteran track daug I've asked has recommended staying away from drilled rotors. They're great for the opposite extremes of car shows or real race cars that get new rotors every race........

When used in open track events on a regular basis they develope stress fractures at the holes. And as important as brakes are on a track, I would not buy mine from ebay unless I knew the seller was a performance brake part distributor.

If you are new to Open Tracking the stock braking system (with new fluid and a different pad) will be way more capable than the driver (not a slam just a learning curve thing). I'm still using the OE rotors on my front spindles and it's my second set.

just my $.02 cheers

Jarrod,

"You can do that............................once!"

Seriously though, windows down and don't drop any condensate on the track and you're good hammer

I drove last year very hard for a full session on my Ceramic pads and stock rotors w/ DOT4 fluid. The trick is to be smooth if you are used to shooting it is like the trigger you squeeze the pedal not pull it does that make sense? I can get more pads if you want to try them they are better than stock and not as aggressive as some metallic ones also they dissipate heat quicker remember the tiles on the space shuttle?

Participation registration: $40

Hallett: $145 per day (usually we all pick one day to go and go together..dont have to pay to show up and watch, just to enter your car)

Drags: $35

banquett: $40 (this is optional...just a meet and greet...carrol shelby is usually there)

Car show $25

For example if you wanted to just do the car show...you would pay:

Participant Registration: $40 + Car show fee of $25 = $65 total

if you wanted to add anything more...you have to pay extra and add it to your cart.

Once you have the participation registration complete you are allowd into all the events to watch for free of course..such as the drags and hallett...to enter your vehicle costs money.

Here is the link to register.... BUT BEFORE YOU REGISTER

get with us....we will all be entering under BMMC to make sure we are registered under the club name
