If you only go to the Sunday car show, you're missing 7/8's of the fun

I will be there this year, unless I plan a vacation that week. That seems to happen alot by accident.

Re: 2009 Mid America Ford and Shelby meet.
There are several reasons we're not going to Barber. The most important is that we have a daughter in high school with lots of commitments in the month of April.
Second, my small business is not immune to this economy....
But also, I've heard from quite a few full-time or part-time professional drivers about the management at that track with all of their rules and penalties. Like the NASCAR commercial last year, if you go off track not only will you be paying to fix your car but you'll be going to the Home Depot to buy new sod and shrubbery to replant it. It just doesn't sound like a driver friendly environment. We are truely spoiled here in Oklahoma by Hallett and its management and crew.

Yea, I think I am going to try to take Thursday and Friday off for sure. I would really like to see Hallett, never watched road racing before.

Honestly is amazing fun. You need to talk some of the members into letting you do a ride a long....possibly mr Grabber Orange GT500 himself might take you for an amazing ride!
I road with one of our supercharged members BOB last year...as well as Crazy Paul at the track. Makes you want to forget drag racing and start building up a road racing suspension...its a great time!! Killer on the brake pads though

I signed up for the novice class.Hope i don't have to buy sod or hay bales. Had a hard time deciding between mid america and the MAA.Done the local thing several times over the years,so i'll try this once. It's like the hot rod power tour. After 5-6 trips you need a change.I'll be 61 at the 50th anniversary.

Age is just a number. You only as old as you feel.

I am registered and am going to the banquet. I am taking Thursday and Friday off of work. I'll let the out of towners drive Hallett and the drags but I'll be there to watch.
I was stuck in Africa last year and I'll be damned if I will miss any of this this year. Come to think of it, I'll probably be damned anyway......
