LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
Got this from TMS
Oh man, I just got some rockin' 2010 Mustang news. Here are the highlights:
Exterior:
Four pedestal spoiler without rear view camera, looks much better than ducktail.
Sequential turn signals standard. They were turned off on all camo'ed cars. The sequence speed can be adjusted, but possibly only by a Ford technician.
Interior:
Interior feels more "open" than previous model. May be a result of higher seating position as the greenhouse feels larger.
Premium Interior Trim includes chrome pony on inside door panel.
Grabber Blue cars have optional Grabber Blue interior stitching and Grabber Blue stripe on seats.
Dark brown leather interior optional. "Less red" than F-Series King Ranch seats.
Orange interior optional. Not a bright orange, a little "redder". Looks great.
Console houses cupholders with flip-open cover. Just behind that is the flip-open cover for your MP3 connection to Sync.
MyColor now includes Halo Color--the ring around the tach and speedo can contrast the numbers.
Ambient lighting includes door handles.
"MUSTANG" on door sill plates illuminates same color as Ambient Lighting.
When headlights are off, the gauges are lit in brilliant white.
Upon startup, gauges do a full sweep.
Performance:
4.6L 3v V8 gets horsepower boost. Not new info, just confirmed.
Beefy strut tower brace on GT. It's the reason for the hood bulge.
GTs with 19" wheels come with Pirelli P-Zero tires.
Acceleration Package optional
Heritage Performance Package optional
More as it comes in!

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
Possibly coming in 2011 jared. Nothing is set in stone. And with harsh economic times ahead it is going to cost Ford a crapload to retool the machineing software and and CNC machines to produce the 5.0.
From what I hear the new 4.6 3v is recieving the same block upgrade as the new F150? with possibly a 50hp bump.
SUCKS

Up in the air still... I don't like the angled off tail lights.

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
not very impressed. looks like they are trying to follow GM and put black plastic everywhere they can on it. I do not like the back end at all, too much black plastic hanging off of it.

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
You cant really see the hips and subtle style changes except on the Performance White and the Sterling Grey Metallic. I like it from the front and side profile. The rear not so much.

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
Yeah in person might be alot different then over the net. I don't really care too much for the interior so far. Its hard to say if it might look better in person. I like the front and side and the antenea in the rear. Looks like the glass roof is also around still. Love the wheels for a stock wheel those look pretty nice. 19" ??

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
2010 Mustang looks more like a 97 Probe that the 08 Mustang. They should spend less time revamping the design and more resources in upgrading what is already there. The only disappointment I have had with the 06 stang is the interior. Whether it is the squeaky dash or the doors that rattle when I play oldies??? NO idea why but Elvis can make my doors sound like they are falling apart. I so wish the original owner would have opted for the $350.00 upgrade and leather the dash, that would have helped but now it is a $2000 add on.
Do you guys think that when Ford releases the 2010 that it will help lower the price of the 05-09 add on parts. I read the mustang magazines and notice that the pre 05 parts are dirt cheap compared to the 05-09 parts. Do the add on part companies have to start development for this new model?

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
For the '10 model it looks like they're just copying what most of us have already done - CAI kit, sequential turn signals, modded antenna, GPS, etc. I want 400+HP - just making a few cosmetic changes to an already great looking car doesn't interest me.

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
I agree...the front looks ok...the side looks like ours...and the rear...holy hell what were they thinking on the rear?
Mine looks 10 times better than this...what a let down. and only 315 hp? WTF?

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
So my Kenne Bell would mount right up to it right? I think the motor is identical as far as that goes. Its just a different CAI and a more agressive tune?

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
Ya.... Some cool little add-on , but no where close to making me run out and buy one. No where close....
And I like my interior.. design wise. Kevin is right though. The materials could be better. (I don't have any rattles...)

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
I'm gonna hafta be the odd man out and say that I LOVE IT. I think they really improved the exterior. Overall it just looks smaller, leaner, meaner and faster. I always thought that the 05-09s straight from the factory were rather blah, and they needed aftermarket pieces to spice them up. Thats not the case anymore. I think overall its a meaner, more agressive looking car. It LOOKS like it went on a diet. The nose looks more sleek and trim. Same thing for the rear. Doesn't look like it has a fatass anymore. The hips are absolutely wonderful. Interior looks much more classy also. And how bout those wheels! Finally some good looking wheels straight from the factory. I'm really excited about this car! Hate to say it, but I have this hairbrained idea. What if I took my Kenne Bell off, sold my 05, got the new 2010, and put the KB right back on! Its tempting. I think I need to settle down and think things through before I get too excited, lol.

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
Am also interested in how it will be priced. I will most likely wait for the 2011 and the 5.0 or a GT500 as the prices seem to be at a reasonable level now.

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
I am with Matt on this one too. I like it! I think they did a good job. The rear end isn't so great. I was looking for more HP than the looks. The 315 doesn't cut if for me. I will keep mine until I run tens.... I hope.

Re: LATEST 2010 MUSTANG NEWS
i love it also, but it isn't worth trading in for. maybe if the lady wants one when her nitro lease is up since we still have the durango for a truck to get the car to and from the track via trailer (eventually you won't want to chance it)
