Re: Tune?
i was very pleased with bama/american muscle. i originally bought my sct from bamachips. then they joined with AM and i never had any issues getting new tunes. tunes were always great and although i never did a dyno with any of them the difference was awesome and driveability was fantastic.
i suggest definitely getting their race tune. alot of fun for a DD

Re: Tune?
I'm getting the x3 back in a couple days... I'm completely stock as we speak... I have a C&L CAI and UDP ready to go on... I like the free tunes for life idea since my upgrades are $ dependent and will come in chunks.... My next mods will be exhaust and 4.10's if things workout.... What tune(s) should I get if i go the bama route...
Re: Tune?
91 Race Tune, 87 Race Tune, and 93 Race Tune (in case we cruise to another state...could be fun :) )
Thats if they allow 3 tunes. If you just get one I would say the 91 Race tune....but then you have to always fill up with 91. Its nice to have the option to upload an 87 tune and save a little coin, especially on road trips

Re: Tune?
if you ever change octane ratings then make sure you have that covered.
i never used it, but i remember alot of people really liked the street tune. something about had better low end for more fun as a dd. definitely get the race tune also though.

Re: Tune?
From reading a few threads around the forums, I have the impression that "Race" and "Street" tunes are just Marketing BS. When they tune the cars they tune them for performance and cant really mess with "low end" or high end anything (what would be the point?). Its all Fuel and timing, I dont think they would starve the low end on the Race tune by taking out spark or vise versa to differentiate from the Street tune.
The difference between the Race and Street is pedal sensitivity I believe. Chris at Bama back in the day even mentioned something similar when I spoke to him about the differences....said some people dont like how sensitive the pedal is on the Race version, so the street served them better.

Re: Tune?
probably very true. as i said i never used the street tune. there was definitely a difference in the pedal between the race and performance tunes though. i always just used the race tune.

Re: Tune?
correct. you can buy into "tunes for life" by purchasing the 3 tune package or you can buy a tuner and get it.

Re: Tune?
So I just need to tell them my comp code.... Mods... And what tune I want.... How long does it normally are to get them emailed
Re: Tune?
generally i read up to a week. very few times have i ever heard of it taking more than a week. and yes just ecu code, mods, gears, tire size. when you get them just make sure you recheck gears and tire size. right before you tune the car go into optional parameters and verify those 2 things.

Re: Tune?
I see... SCT should be shipping me back the Unlocked tuner tomorrow... Wonder if I should go ahead and order the tune(s)
Re: Tune?
might as well. you should get the tuner and tunes with in a couple days of eachother vs. having to wait even longer if you don't order till you get the tuner
