3V Tune? Empty 3V Tune?

Ok kids... what kind of tune are you running for daily and at the track. also who are you getting your tunes from? I just ordered a tuner and CAI from Brenspeed for my brothers 05 and had them give me 87 91 and 93 tune. Now I have a tuner coming for me even tho my 05 already has a 91 tune on it. I need to call brenspeed and have them put my 3 tunes on there. just wanted some ideas or should I just go with the normal. "I was thinking 87 91 and 101" Figer you guys had some tricks up your sleaves you might want to shair.

A Dyno Tune is always going to be better than an email tune. ALthough I will say that Brenspeed makes some pretty sweet tunes applause

Different times of the year...IE temperature, Humidity, Air Density, ALtitude ect all play a part in the performance of the vehicle. A good Dynotune for the summer and a dynotune for the late fall would benifit you the most. You have to take advantage of that COOL air in late fall by tweaking the tune getting that Air to Fuel working for you.

I have an 87 91 and 101 Dynotune from ARCHANGEL MOTORSPORTS here in Tulsa. I might make a trip back to him when it starts getting cooler to do another dyno session.

Your Brenspeed tune should do you just fine...I normaly run 91 on the street..nothing less. For the track your Brenspeed tune should work out great for you unless your looking for every possibly HP you can pull out of the mods you have done so far.

Hope this helps

Thanks Grabber.

I have the normal right now 4:10's shorties CAI axle back muffs all FFRP. I don't run anything but 91 in my car now. so i'm thinking why waste a tune and maybe i should go with 91 93 101. Have you ever used the 101 and would you say it's worth it?

again thanks for your time.

I myself havent run the 101 tune yet...I just dont want to deal with the headache of mixing higher octane fuel. Also not sure if I would gain enough to justify the hassle.

At the track I run the 91 tune with Pure 91 gasoline (no ethanol crap). As we dont have 93 here in Tulsa I keep it at 91 and dont use the other tunes in my XCAL...kind of a waste of tune space I would agree

There is a place in the city thats has 93 and 101. Thats why i was thinking about getting it. Or maybe like you said above. have them make me up two 91 tunes one that will take advantage of that cold fall air. if brenspeed can even do that. I guess I just need to talk to them and see what they can and can't do for me.

Not sure if you should try and get an ajusted 91 tune from Brenspeed...You really cant get the full advantage and Id be worried about my Air to Fuel...adjusting it blindly for hypothetical outside influences (weather, air density, humidity, etc) is hard without being on a dyno and in the environment of which you are racing.

If it were me I would call Kurtis at Archangel Motorsports and schedule a dynotune and see if you can work a deal to come back in the late fall and have another round. Its not that bad of a drive from the City.

But it wouldnt hurt to call Brenspeed and ask their opinion

Kurtis pulled 7 more hp on my 87 brenspeed tune than on his 91 tune.I like the cheaper gas and can tell no difference when on the 91,using 91 octane.Go figure.I need to go buy and get my 87 dyno sheet.

Hey guys thanks for the input.

also how much does this Kurtis charge? It has to be alot more than the box tunes from Brenspeed. I would think anyways.

Honestly you will just have to call and ask. We did a dyno day with the club at a discount, so I dont know how much hes charging. His number is on his Sponsor Logo on the main page of this forum.
