I have $1000.00, what are my options guys?
My Mustang has a Whipple Gen2 with 4.10 Gears and Forged Eagle Internals. It lays down a conservative 450 at the wheel and I want an additional 100 HP to get 550 at the wheel. I know this HP with drive the need for additional supporting Mods but to get the 100HP what is the best route. I want to avoid Nitrous but I am open to other options.

More boost! How much are you running now?
With forged internals... 550 plus is pretty easy to do.

Hey Kevin! 550 should not be a problem with the Whipple. Just up the boost. Im assuming your around 9-10psi currently.
1)Smaller pulley/Re-Tune.... 2.6 pulley will net you 16psi I believe
2)Larger Crank Pulley (will up the boost even more....dont know if you will need it)
3)Larger Throttle Body
Might go for the smaller pulley and tune and see where your at. Probably will be around 520-530 rwhp. I have heard that the stock throttle body is pretty restrictive...which means even though you up the boost with the smaller pulley, the throttle body wont allow the extra air flow, so your HP wont jump as much as you might think. Trial and error I guess.
If you must the lower pulley should add the bump in boost to net you 550rwhp after the smaller upper goes on. I would talk to Whipple directly and see what they recommend as I am not the expert on the Whipple and how it performs. Also as you up the boost remember that you are on a 6 rib set up, If you start to experience belt slip or breakage.....might think about upgrading to an 8 rib setup. They even make a 10 rib...little overkill I think.

Do you think I will need to upgrade my fuel injectors? I have the standard Gen 2 Whipple but can never get a clear answer on what injectors that came with. I love that Steeda belt drive upgrade.

Kevin,
Where did you get your kit? Im guessing you have something similar to this kit from Lethal Performance.
http://www.lethalperformance.com/superchargers-whipple-intercooled-complete-kits-c-576_577_2516_2543_3672/whipple-05-06-gt-w140ax-intercooled-ho-550hp-kit-black-p-8318
Kit comes with 38lb injectors I believe. There should be an injector chart that shows the colors to confirm.
If you can call the vendor you ordered it from they can send you a list of what was included.

I have a reichard racing 2.6 8 rib pulley $50.00. The 8 rib kit is just a ford pulley kit for a truck. The injectors you have should be ford racing 39# and should be blue, same injectors that come stock on 03 04 cobra

You will need to upgrade your injectors from the 38lb ones to at least 60's for room to grow.

+1 on 60lb injectors. i'd also get lt's if you don't have them already. between lt's, injectors, & pulley & tune you'd be just a bit above $1000 depending on what lt's you choose. probably closer to 1250
