Induction kit... Tune?
i am looking to buy the professional products induction kit (intake manifold, upper plenum, 75mm throttle body,) and a cold air intake kit, will i need a tune if i bolt these parts on to my mustang? and also will i need a bigger Mass air flow sensor?
any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

no on the mass air sensor, yes on the tune. if you just bolt the parts on you will see little to no gain. you wont need a bigger mass air flow sensor unless you supercharge
for more bang for your buck i recommend 3.73 gears or higher
http://www.americanmuscle.com/fopege4ra.html 4:10 gears gears are an wasy and massive inrpovment in performance, just kiss your fuel mileage goodbuy. i have 4:10s in my 07, LOVE THEM

Re: Induction kit... Tune?
I would just get an intake, Tune, gears, mufflers,a 70MM throttle body and maybe an O/R H or X pipe oh and a short throw shifter
BamaChips or Brenspeed is where to look for tunes.
JLT makes a good looking intake
unless you want to shift out of first before you go 5 feet, get some 3.73 gears. if you dont care, get 4.10's
I keep reading that the plenum and Underdrive pulleys just dont do much for our cars... except high rpms, then its mildly noticeable. Also I think the new inake manifold really needs new cams to fully benefit it.. and once you spend all that money, you might as well go forced induction.
Stick with a few basic bolt ons or go all out! Just my .02 and I am relying on what I have on my car and what the mustang community says, so I could be wrong

on the newer mustang it makes a big difference it may not be as much for the older models. personaly i recommend longtubes and catless h over anything else for exhaust....but i am biesed towards loud cars

Re: Induction kit... Tune?
like i said, going with what I have read on the mustang forums, and the UDP's are worthless.... and I have never seen anyone even talk about the manifold which leads me to believe, no one uses it??? Its alot of money

Re: Induction kit... Tune?
If he plans on cams and stuff later, than the manifold would be great
Yes you will need a tune,. sorry forgot to answer that

Re: Induction kit... Tune?
Dont waste your time on the manifold. Like stated before get some gears, programmer, short shifter, and exhaust first. Or go supercharger route.

Call Bob Hurley and ask for Benji. He does all the installs for the club. Tell him you're with BMMC. It's around $200 for the install.
