yea. so this guy hasnt made ONE good decision while hes been in office. from closing gitmo bay to promising tax cuts that 90% of people will never see... this administration is a sham. if Obama and Nancy Pelosi had a love child, it would be the son of Satan.

Guys this is nothing new. All it means is that the auto makers will have to keep paying fines but they will keep making the same cars. What this idiot should have done is lowered the standards to let the auto makers get back on their feet again. Then bumped it up a little. It was a 27mpg I think which means all of the trucks and SUV's and even our beloved mustangs have been getting fined for years. The automakers have paide more than 771million in fines over the years and ovbiously now will continue. I think its time we rise up against socialism and take back our country. This is rediculous. The government is now in the auto making business and the banking business.

You want Detroit to make fuel efficient cars that consumers will buy? Add $2 tax to a gallon of gas. Simple solution that will work. Problem is that it is painful. A politician will not do anything painful (translate - politically damaging).

The thing that has me smoking under the collar is that they are now calling CO2 a pollutant now that the eco terrorists have convinced the world that it will make penguin babies and polar bear cubs be born naked. Crapo, the air coming out of a California car tailpipe is cleaner that what goes in the engine until you manage to villify CO2.

In short, our government crippled the American auto industry in the 70's. Obama and the nut case liberals are here to make sure they finish them off this time by regulating them into making cars that no one wants. Rmember the Mustang II?

My problem is why do we need some agency "government" out there telling us we have to drive a car that gets 35MPG. If I wanted to drive one, I would go out and buy one. What happened to the freedom of choice in this country. If i want to pay $4 a gallon for gas and drive a vehicle that gets 10MPG, I should have that choice. I should not have to be forced into that decision by someone else. Its going to end up just like the tabacco industry. Tax the shit out of it to where no one can afford it and force them into change. I'm sorry, but that is not what I believe in. That is not what makes a free market work.

the fears you are describing are the effects of a socialist government. not only do they convince the people that they cant make it without the government, they control how the people live. this son of a bitch compares himself to Abe Lincoln... give me a break.
