SHELBY HOOD PINS INSTALLED!!
A BIG thanks to Paul and David for taking the time this weekend to install my Hoodpins. Theyve been laying around since the Shelby Show this summer and I finally got around to installing them. I was hesitant about it...didnt know how they would look...but I took a gamble with some a little persuasive help from Paul to go ahead with the Mod.
My hood has that unmistakable flutter at about 70mph that only gets worse when you go up from there Im sure its not going to come up as Ive been down the drag strip at well over 100mph and nothings happened thus far. BUT for piece of mind and if I ever wanted to take her up to her TOP SPEED (which is probably 300mph or so) I want the hood pins and the security.
Here are a few "after" pics...I think the pins turned out looking great! Thanks again Paul and David.
Also I tried out Jerry's new Paint Brightener...applied one coat to the paint...then followed up with a coat of FAT BOBs Wax....Turned out great!! I also tried out Mothers new Chrome polish for the wheels...works ok...but a little messy. I think I will find an alternative.
Now You can see how David and Paul custom fit the shelby hood pin brackets...pretty sneaky! They cut a small slit for the clip to slide through the radiator cover then drilled a hole just big enough to fit the bolt through and walla! a clean look. Thanks guys.

Looks great Jarrod. Glad to help out. The custom cut in the radiator cover looks great! Turned out better than the ones on the Shelby GT.

They are the shelby....just opted for the Less Gaudy shelby covers. And being that I dont have a Shelby theme going I dont want to mix brands :)

I like the flat ones. The raised Shelby ones look goofy IMO.

Would not look good on a grabber orange Roushified mustang

Re: SHELBY HOOD PINS INSTALLED!!
I got the raised ones without the Shelby lettering on it. I really think they look sharp. I had the flat Shelby pins similiar to Grabber and paid 100+ dollars for them. 3 months later the plastic covering started to yellow up and look almost rusty so I cut the wires off. The design seems to be flawed or it could have been user error but a rounded pin sitting on a flat chrome piece did not work. The Shelby pins although raised do have a slot for the pin to rest in so I will try those.
