The day has finally come.

so we found a house while i was home on vacation for christmas. got a contract signed, financing done, and FINALLY fanny mae approved the payment of the overdue water bill. last week we got it inspected and nothing more than a couple tiny things found. today my wife will go and do a final walk through of the house then immediately after her and the realtor will go to the bank to sign all the documents. this is our first time to buy a house and we're super excited. got a smokin deal on a forclosure. before putting it on the market they put in new carpet and repainted the entire house and the deck. they also installed new whirlpool dish washer, microwave, and oven/range.

so far we've purchased 2 craftsman garage door openers. almost went with chamberland, but then my wife found out that the craftsman can be opened and closed from our cell phones or a computer w/ internet. we'll also be immediately buying new appliances because although they put new ones in they put the cheapest line of whirlpool and they didn't do a fridge. we're also wanting to get a wireless pet fence because we do have a puppy great dane (puppy but still already up to my waist). the fence is only the 2 post fence and he'll easily jump it.

we definitely got a great price. houses that had recently sold or were for sale in the neighborhood were listed for 350-400k. it's going to be so nice not worrying about someone opening my wifes door and hitting my car.

;) it's coming my friend. we're probably ordering the wife a 2013. even though i'm a civilian now i can still get in on the oversea's military sales. i used this service when ordering my 2007 and got around 5 grand off the sticker. i asked the dealer if they could do better before i took delivery. they couldn't even come close.

we'll also be getting rid of our 2006 expedition so i can get a crew cab F250/350. i'm wanting either a king ranch edition, harley davidson edition, or a silver, charcoal, or black w/ black leather interior.

just found out that the recaro seats are an option in the V6. the wife wants to carve some corners so why not have seats ready for the task straight from the factory.

you got a great deal! So when you say overdue water bill, was it a foreclosure? $100k off, that ain't bad! I thought I was doing good getting mine for $35k under market value, but that's pretty crazy!

yes it was a fanny mae forclosure. the previous owners left a 1k dollar water bill. took fanny mae almost a month to approve the payment of the bill. we were supposed to close feb 10th.
