Oil Catch Cans on our cars
Anyone running one? Is there a need? Some say they have seen little to no oil after 4k miles.
--Also most do just the passenger side. Why? Also is there a need for both the passenger and drives side to be canned?

Re: Oil Catch Cans on our cars
JLT Performance’s newest product to keep oil out of your intake is the Oil Separator. During the process of venting crankcase pressure back through your intake track, large amounts of oil, in the form of vapors, can coat your blower rotors, intercooler fins and even dilute your gas, lowering its octane level. This happens on all engines and is even worse when supercharged as crankcase pressures are increased
All boosted motors should have them. The reason the right side is because fresh air is pulled through from the air box through the crank case and drawn out on the passenger side by vacuum.

Definitely will be looking into purchasing at some point. Its just not on my short list thus far. A lot of money for such a small modification. Those little things arent cheap!!

Yea, those things been around forever, there wasn't much talk about them on gt500's as say the termi's and lightnings when they came out. Then jlt came out with that kit and there has been more talk about them. The open breather is no no unless you adjust tune for it.

Re: Oil Catch Cans on our cars
so why wouldnt Ford add a factory can if it was a problem. Is it feasible that some oil is needed to lube the rotors for the blower?

Re: Oil Catch Cans on our cars
I can see in some circumstances where some lube may be needed for the blower on the shaft. Lol

Been hearing more stories of those finding a teaspoon every 100miles......some say just moisture....some say none at all.

Re: Oil Catch Cans on our cars
I would recomend it. the lightning i had over time the intercooler clogged up causing lower boost at one point it got to where i only had like 3.5lbs of boost. Its more preventive maitenance than anything.
