So:
I keep my shaker assembly, C&L intake, PHP intake spacer, and my no longer made rare MGW oil cap.....
out goes the old
In comes the Aluminator, except pull those blue cam covers and replace with my OEM plain aluminum ones and use my OEM coil covers
Aside from labor costs, can you give me a flow of costs of the above and a rough net estimate on total cost, labor and possible dyno re-tune aside?
And would I need a dyno re-tune with my Xcal or could my current custom tune work? Some said my A/F looked poor on my dyno sheet, and recommended a re-tune with someone else. Luckily the tuner I used is no longer in business so no need worrying going back to him. I had been thinking about getting a re-tune done sometime anyways...

using the aluminator crate motor you'd be looking at probably around 7500. it should bolt right in. i think you'' be able to use your stock manifold and your intake, a tune will be absolutely mandatory if you go that route
i'll br frank on the Aluminator. its pretty much exactly the same as the Mach 1 motor, only difference is the mach 1 uses different cams,rods,pistons. im pretty sure thats it, the 5 speed cars use a cobra crank i believe(don't quote me on that but there is a difference between the manual and the auto)
if i may id like to offer you a cheaper alternative to the aluminator crate motor for you to consider. i say pull the heads and inspect them, get an estimate on having them repaired(the journals can be welded and rehoned) then look at buying an aluminator short block. put your reworked heads on the short block and have it retuned. Voila you have a working engine again.
i'll grab a price on the shortblock in a second. 3999 from ford racing. greg could get you one for cheaper im sure
