Re: which x pipe?
I have a pypes x-pipe from brenspeed. I like it a lot. The fitment was a little off so I didn't bolt it in. I had to weld it, but then again I always weld everything when its my exhuast. I kept the cats too. I like the off road x but I don't have a tuner to turn off the engine code so I was forced to keep the cats.

Re: which x pipe?
Go with either the Pypes off-Road H-Pipe or Pypes off Road X-pipe from www.brenspeed.com its probably one of the best deals out there. Plus if there is anything wrong in shipment they will make it right.

Re: which x pipe?
The X-pipes I've heard sound a little trumpety. The H-pipes... not so much.

Re: which x pipe?
Good to meet you tonight, John! You snuck out before we could say goodbye. Kurtis' shop is at Pine and Hwy. 169 - going north on 169, exit at Pine, go right, and take an immediate right going south on the service road. His shop is about the second building or so down that service road. Not sure if he's got a sign up yet or not, but there's usually some Mustangs out front, or you might see his Cadillac CTS parked out front.

Re: which x pipe?
I've had both X-pipes and H-pipes, and in my experience, I prefer the H to the X. The H sounds more like a deep-throated 'muscle car', the X more like a NAASCAR type sound, especially when rhompin on it.
But sure to search Google and such for audio clips. Listen to different exhaust combos before settling/buying one, as S197 exhaust is expensive, and buying the wrong parts can make you at minimum regret the purchase, or just flat-out not like the sound of the car (which can lead you to getting rid of a car, buying other cars, etc!)
