Cruise ideas
Okay, here's some thoughts:
Float trip - which I will need to learn how to swim, get a tan and lose 50 lbs. Willing to try, not floating with Jared, need someone I can trust, and at least 2 life preservers. Thanks to Jerry for coming up with this idea that will scare the Bajeesus out of me.
Working cowboy ranch - Found several, would be cool to spend the day herding cows, then sleep in a bunkhouse
Ghost tour - That was gonna happen last year, but got veto'd. We could do one closer than New Mexico.
Kansas Quirky Tour - See the giant ball of yarn (Paul's favorite, lol) and other weird stuff, I believe there is even a Circus Freak Graveyard
Ski Trip - I've never been skiing, but I am convinced that I would look ravishing in a snow bunny suit.
Talimena Drive - Down to Heavner to see the Runestone, take the scenic drive in Oklahoma's version of mountains.
Alabaster Caverns - Western Oklahoma has some great plateaus and scenery, might skip the Great Salt Plains for obvious "paint" reasons, though it is cool to dig up crystals.
Hot Springs - Another brilliant "Jerry" idea - pretty sure we can get into some trouble in Arkansas, there is an alligator farm (for those pesky people we don't want to bring back) and a riverboat to ride. Once again water is involved, Jerry is trying to kill me.
Texas Motor Speedway - Apparently you can rent the track for a day, long drive if you have "issues" at the track, but would be fun. And I think Six Flags isn't far away . . . a weekend of blatant hedonism!
So just some thoughts to throw out there, might need to think about it, if we are gonna stay overnight, will want to book early.

Re: Cruise ideas
Here is the thing I was talking about last weekend,,, unfortunately the first one is this weekend, but Im pretty sure they do it again in the fall
http://texas.speedwaycharities.org/events/laps_for_charity_i/
You can sign in as a car club and pace the track together.... When I had my crossfire, they usually had 30-40 cars that paced it together! I will be doing it later this year

Re: Cruise ideas
Good suggestions, Sandy! I like the float trip; Talimena Drive; Hot Springs; and maybe the Texas Motor Speedway. A ski cruise might not be practical - I've gone skiing for years; it wouldn't be a fun trip for those that have never been skiing. It's harder than it looks, and it's best if newbies take at least a half-day lesson. Plus, it's pretty expensive (lodging; lift tickets; food); not to mention there are always travel risks if you go anywhere decent such as the Rockies. I've never been in anything less than a front-wheel drive vehicle and wouldn't take the Mustang up in the high country in winter.

Re: Cruise ideas
I look at Lloyd and Harry... True American Pioneers. if they can trade in their Mutts Cutts mobile and trek all the way from Nebraska to Vail on a minibike... we should be able to do it in our Mustangs. Sure... it was a movie but I think it was based on a true story.
Errr No?
