Photo Shoots
If anyone is ever in the OKC area and is interested in setting up a photo shoot for your car, bike, etc... let me know. Just to be clear, I am not a professional photographer in any way. Just a guy looking to make a little extra money and help a fellow enthusiast out. I'll post up a few examples of my photos that I have taken over the last couple weeks for a photo contest on another forum for reference. Just pm me if you have any questions at all.

Very nice! You have mad skillz!
Where is that one building with the old chevy truck? Cool setting. Kinda reminds me of the Alamo.

Well...I resized them and they still are partially cut off. You can see most of the pics anyway. Enough to get the point that is. Sorry guys.

Thanks for the compliment Paul.
The building is theFarmer's Market near downtown OKC. The truck is sitting across the street at a gas station.

Thanks guys...I really appreciate the compliments, especially your's Leonard. My wife bought a Nikon D40 for me for Christmas and I mostly just used it for taking pics of my car until just recently. A member on Modded Mustangs has cancer and another one of our member's started a photo contest to help raise money for him last month. It gave me a good excuse to get out and try taking photos of some new stuff. I just have the D40, the stock 18-55 Nikkor lens and a 70-300 Tamron macro zoom lens, so my equipment really isn't even close to what real photographer's carry. Regardless, they work great.
Thanks again guys.

Re: Photo Shoots
Excellent job on the pics. I've been know to take a few myself. What type of photo editing software do you use. As to the picture of the baseball glove what type of lighting did you use, i.e. flash, regular light, spot. Any lens filters?

The editing programs that I use are Photoshop Elements 6 and Picasa. What you see is pretty much the photo that I took. I usually just make minor lighting and contrast adjustments. The only photo above that has any editing further than that is the rear quarter shot of my car with the radial black and white tool. I just picked up a CPL filter, but haven't had the chance to use it yet.
The glove was taken inside a home made photo booth that I put together myself. The camera is just on a tripod and I'm using the 18-55 lens with no flash. No lens filter was used...just had to manually adjust the ISO and white balance.
Here's a quick how to if anyone wants to attempt doing this yourself. The total cost was $21.00 and that includes both work lights. I used a 6.0 cube box with 11x14 square openings cut in each side and 10x13 square opening in the top. White craft paper was used to cover the openings and I lined the inside with white posterboard. The lamps are Cooper Lighting 500 watt halogen worklights from Wal-Mart. The light up top is just a desk lamp with a 60 watt halogen bulb.

Re: Photo Shoots
I am going to agree with Paul. Pretty ingenius, I would have never thought to make a photo box like that.
I have a project now!
