Re: What brand LT headers
Well there are alot of choices out there. If you plan to go FI then I would get 1 3/4" headers If not then 1 5/8" will work just fine. As far as brands go I would look for one that is ceramic coated for looks and longevity. and then look at price. Kooks is probably the best out there but are a bit pricey. OBX I think is the knockoff brand that are supposed to be pretty good. I think they only come in the 1 5/8" though.

Re: What brand LT headers
American Racing is the best out there period, not even Kooks can keep up with fit finish and quality. BUT Amercan Racing headers are dang expensive. I believe over $1k for X or H setup if Im not mistaken...But very nice headers.
If your looking for a set that will last you and is in an affordable pricerange go with the OBX setup.
Like david said 1 3/4'' if your ever planning on running a supercharger or turbo...if staying naturally aspirated go with 1 5/8''

Re: What brand LT headers
Long tubes are a chore....Motor mounts have to be unbolted...engine has to be lifted a few inches even to get the headers to settle into place. Thats why most people recommend installing solid motor mounts while your doing headers since your already having to unbolt them.
Most here have the ability to install them...its just finding the time. Its probably a 4hour job at least Im guessing...possibly longer, I havent tried to install any.
But Im sure we could try and find the time one weekend...just have to plan ahead

Re: What brand LT headers
5.0 magazine just did a dyno test of many different lt's
kooks was the best for average hp gains
mac was right with kooks for average, but beat them in the peak gains.
