decided i just want to run DR's full time. anybody running them on 18'' wheels? reason for my question is: my stock overall height is 27.25 inches, which would make the ideal DR a 285 40R18 because that tire is 27 inches tall. problem is, i cant find that tire anywhere. i dont want to go with 285 35R18 because it is only 26 inches tall. i wanna stay as near stock height as possible.

Just run the 305/35/18, put some meat on it. Of course, you would probably need a 9.5 to 10 inch rim minimum.

i'd say it's going to depend on a few things:

how many miles are you expecting to get.

is it a dd

will it be driven in the rain.

if yes to the last 2 questions you'll want to stick with only a nitto or a bfg dr.

if you don't drive it in the rain you can get some MT ET Street radial II's, but they will wear out fast and you won't get many miles out of them. they are howevery very very sticky.

M and H is another great brand if you don't drive it in the rain, but will wear out fast.

i'm considering going to a 305/45/18, but i also have a 9.5" rim. it will fill up the wheel well nicely and give me some crazy grip on the street, but my car isn't going to be a dd anymore either.
