It's the United Ford at I-244 and Memorial that closed. Interview with Bob Hurley was shown on KOTV's 5:00 P.M. newscast; he said all the Ford dealers in Tulsa, together with Ford corporate, got together and decided that dealership would be the one to close. Hurley said the other dealerships will be able to employ about 60% of the people laid off due to the closing of that dealership.

On overall sales you are correct. The big 3 are outselling domestically. BUT you have to take in account the bottom line. How much does it cost to outsell the compitition? They may have outsold the competition, but at what cost? Unions are going to be the death of our big 3....watch.

ya know, year-end model sales usually happen about this time of year, but never at such drastic price cuts. the production vs sales numbers have obviously gotta suck.

You know what pissed me off, they act like we only have 3 other dealerships in town. Wtf about Joe Cooper, not one mention of them helping out employees. They where not involved in any of this, that should tell you something about Joe Cooper. Hurley, Norton and Knight are also taking on the 450 car stock, we are taking 150 car I think.

I got my first car at United at 244 and Memorial. The year was 1988 and the car was a beautifil 1979 Mercury Capri trade in it has a 2.3L and a 4 speed. Ahh those were the days. Sad thing is they had a 1984 Predator Edition mustang on the lot as well. One of the rarest of tuner cars from the 80's. They had heads, exhaust, roll cages and the works. Very cool and sadly enough, out of the price range.
