Re: Exhaust... whatcha got?
Pypes off road X --- Like the high pitched nascar sound
Borla Stinger mufflers --- Only option for the Roush rear end as far as an upgrade in sound
Bullett 18'' Race Mufflers welded in front of the Axle and just behind the X pipe.---- I was sick and tired of the Raspy Trumpeting and obnoxios popping from the exhaust. Installed the Race mufflers which act like resonators and it smoothed the exaust out....SOUNDS AMAZING NOW....much quieter...no more rasp...no more trumpeting...no more popping!
It could be a little louder...but I think when I add the longtubes down the road it will open her up a bit and sound perfect!

Re: Exhaust... whatcha got?
Dynomax complete with x pipe all T304 polished stainless steel from tip to tip.
It was a long processes with mine being a sixxer getting the right sound. I have had several systems on her till I talsked to my Tenneco rep and he asked if I would try a set they were testing for production (yes was the answer). They only made ten sets and decided it was going to be too expensiveto retail. He said to come out it would have to sell for nearly 1000.00 but I got it for free it makes my car sound closer to a V8 than anything else I have ever heard. Oh made more on the dyno too peak gains were 24rwhp and 17lbft last dyno on my car was 237rwhp and 282lbft on 93 octane in dallas on our 91 I haveto pull out 3 degrees of timeing so here I would say 230rwhp. So being an auto 17% loss would see about 277 crank hp and 330lb/ft not bad for a sixxer.

Stock for now. Exhaust is the last mod I will make, if I do it at all.
Right now I stick out like wino at a lesbian convention. Is it really worth it to draw more attention with loud pipes?

Re: Exhaust... whatcha got?
Stock manifolds, Pypes O/R H-pipe, Factory flow tubes, Flowmaster Mufflers.
I like the H-pipe for a slightly lower V8 rumble than the higher pitch of the X-pipe. Flows.....Well long story short I have had flowmasters on every mustang I have ever owned. I'm sure a dozen or more at this point. I like the way they sound.

I've heard long tubes on a 3" exhaust that sounded great, but was extremely loud...

Re: Exhaust... whatcha got?
Upping the boost on the SC is probably mod #2 or #3. #1 is the suspension, and the 373 rear end and the Stage 2 tune (with boost) are a toss up for #2 & #3.

So are we talking any kind of HP advantage or just a cool rumble in the tail?

JBA Claims 40 RWHP on complete 3' exhaust but it will be loud
2.6 pulley, JLT intake and good tune with rear control arms and slicks will run 10.90's all day long

What an opening word. I have Spintech Pro Shootout mufflers but Im sure you already know that and I purchased them to make people with legend lime Mustangs ask questions.Actually I got them to be different.Everyone with a fox seems to have Flows and Im tired of hearing fox's with 40 series flowmasters.I like the sound but I swear everyone has them.

Trust me on this, get the ford springs 1st. Then do a stage 2 kit, you won't want gears after this mod. Its hard enough to handle as is without the gears with the extra tq/hp.

Sounds like good advice to me. Definitely suspension first. Stock suspension won't handle the ponies I have now.....

Re: Exhaust... whatcha got?
Yea, springs are a must, get rid of that 4x4 look. You could get the whole ford kit, but at the time I just wanted it for looks so I just got springs. Upper/lower control arms wouldn't hurt either.
Also, if your worried about warranty, you could always just get the stage 1 kit, cold air and tune. That way you could always change it back to stock if you had problems. I installed the cold air and tune first, it made a huge difference. The pulley helped more down low in the 2000-3000rpm range, just builds boost faster. I went with lethal performance kit with the vmp tune, have had no problems with it. Evolution is always another good choice.
