Was it the speed or the rpms that jacked the DS? Looked like he was up there pretty high in the rpms, was he in OD or still in direct drive?
Ford Engineers know these cars will be modded out of the gate usually....

The higher the speed is the faster the rpm on the drive shaft spins. I'm glad I haven't done that to my old 2006 gt. I took it to 135 many times and got my last ticker around that speed. Thank you car gods.

I think it was a one off defective shaft... I would think the shaft itself is the same as the GT. Maybe not though.

135 mph should not have caused this, even on a V6. If they are built that poorly, then I dont see the GT being THAT much better. Something pre-maturely failed and/or was defective from the factory would be my guess.

If you want to prevent this, buy a sn95 V6... make sure it's silver too. They're only good for 85 mph.

There's a lot more tension on that driveshaft at higher speeds in direct drive versus overdrive, just wondering if that had anything to do with a defective part failing faster.

84 Paul, get it right...
Re: What happens when you remove the speed limiter from a 2011 V6 Mustang?
Another DS issue... I'm guessing they are different from the GT's or GT500's Obviously weaker and/or not balanced for high speed.
