Re: Found Lee's new daily
Lol. You ready for this Jared?
I'll explain everything so theres no confusion.
About 2.5 months ago I was driving to the gas station and It just died on me, so we pulled over and Coby was checking things and he noticed one of the fuses was blown and so we trailered it home and the next day put a new fuse in and it started but idled real rough. We thought it blew the fuel pump fuse so Coby replaced the pump and no difference and then he replaced the pump assembly and no change. Later on we learned that Ford mislabled them in the diagram so it was actually blowing the ECU fuse.
So we unplugged the CCRM (constant control relay module) and the fuse didnt blow. So we replaced it with a known working CCRM and the fuse blew. Coby unplugged everything under the hood and the fuel pump, fuse still blew. The battery was bad, so we replaced that and got new sparkplugs. Then Coby started putting power to individual wires at the ECU and he narrowed down to a red wire with a light green stripe. So he spliced in a new wire from the CCRM to the ECU and the fuse still blew.
After all that, we got ahold of Geoff's ECU from his wrecked '98 and it still blew.
We've checked all the anti-theft stuff. As soon as you turn the key to the 'ON' position the fuse immediately blows. Something is grounding somewhere, just can't find where.

Re: Found Lee's new daily
for pure curiosity, have you jumped the fuse to see if the car starts?
No way I would run it like this, but atleast to see...

Re: Found Lee's new daily
only fear in that is that it could pop something later down the circuit. Better to track back than search ahead...

Re: Found Lee's new daily
Well ladies, if you didnt see on Facebook, Coby went out to my car last night and jacked up the driverside and crawled underneath and started unplugging the o2 sensors and he decided to take a gander at the transmission harness and he discovered that it had been resting up against the EGR and this is the result:

Re: Found Lee's new daily
What wiring have you traced so far? Id look straight to the main power and go completely through it. Ive only read the description.

Re: Found Lee's new daily
try to unplug the transmission as see if the car will start. until you can get a new harness...
Re: Found Lee's new daily
Already tried that lee. My ignition is currently locked up. I don't think electrical tape will do it. A few wires are fried. Burned up. Dunzo.
