Re: Prez Election
MY INTERNET WAS TURNED OFF SO I COULD NOT POST. I WAS WAITING ON MY WELFARE CHECK TO PAY THE BILL.

Re: Prez Election
I agree 100%. They need to regulate welfare more. Give it a fairly short term. If you cant find a job in a year something is wrong. Granted if you can prove you need it due to a dissability or something great.. the program was designed for you but if you have two arms, two legs and a 3rd grade reading level there is something out there you can do. Document how many children the person has at the time they sign up and thats what htey get. If you feel the need to have more kids knowing damn well you dont have a job and cannot afford them thats your fault, make due. You dont get more money just because you have hinges on your heels and dont know you way to the free clinic to get a condom. Thats not my fault and I shouldnt pay for it out of my check. For that matter the fact that your ass is lazy and want to sit around the house all day popping out kids isnt my fault either. the welfare system was put in place to help people like me. It was made to help me if i were to lose my job and couldnt work for a while and had no other source of income. But people like me have never used it because I am capable of finding myself another job if I need one. It wasnt meant to be abused like it is. I have worked on the retail side of things and seen a lady that would pull up to my QT in a mercedes wearing a very nice pant suite and she would come in and buy pop on her food stamps. Tell me the system isnt screwed up. I bet we sold more beer from food stamp money that anything else and we couldnt do a damn thing about it. People would send their kids in one at a time with a 1$ food stamp and have them buy a 5 cent peice of candy to get the change then when they had enough they would come in with all that change and by a 6 pack. They dont use it for food. They get food from the guy living with them that isnt married to them and doesnt claim the residence so she can continue to get the food stamps that they buy beer and smokes with. Thats our system and Obama things they need more of my money? I say BULL SHIT to that..

Joshua wrote:"Obama is not fit to run the country period. A one term senator isn't exactly experienced."
A one term senator has more experience than the governor of where....oh yeah Alaska.
But a governor has more accotability for their actions in alaska, than a senator does sitting around bull shitting about house bills and waving their hand for the vote. Everything she has done, she is directly responsible for (good and bad). A senator has no accountability for their actions, they just cast a vote.
On another note. why would you vote in a democratic president, with a democratic house and senate. there are no checks and balances there.
BTW, josh, not picking on you or directing it towards you, just stating my general opinion.

Holy Crap.... I don't even want to talk about this anymore because it gets nowhere with you guys. Thats why I try to stay away from talking politics with anyone. I believe this will be my last post on this thread. And don't say its because I don't have a reply because I do but it will take like a million pages long and I don't feel like writing that much.

This is what scares me the most. Especially if the socialist get enough votes for block a filibuster. They will have free reign to do whatever they want. I believe there should checks and balances in place, always. Whether it's a Republican or Democrat (read: Socialist) in control.
Josh... no harm no foul. We'll still love you bro! Please state your thoughts. Yes, most of us are Conservatives, but that doesn't mean we can't all get along.

Here's something the liberal media won't talk about.... Obama's proposed plan for a National Security Force. A Guy named Adolf tried the same thing once called the SS and the Hitler Youth. Just saying.

If Ohio falls.....McCain will be about 4 votes short even if he won every start after that...by my calculation

Re: Prez Election
Well It just goes to show how much influence the media has on the outcome of an election. I truly believe that the media portrayed the country in such a negative manner that the outcome was determined before any voting ever took place. The Media is totally out of control. Its like the ambulance chasing lawyers that have made it impossible to do anything without fear of being sued for anything. (No offense Jeff)

Re: Prez Election
Whats funny is most of the voting population in the exit polls admitted that McCain is the more experienced candidate and agreed with most of his future plans...BUT voted for Obama to show dissaproval for Bush the last 8 years. Kinda like a statement agains the current sitting president. Sucks

Re: Prez Election
Yeah it's pretty stupid. Well all you can do from this point on is grit your teeth and bear it. I would suggest to anyone thinking of buying a firearm to do it now. The prices are fixing to skyrocket.

Re: Prez Election
My dad sent this around in an e-mail a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was very fitting to bring it back up now that our fate is being decided by Uninformed or Completely snowed voters.
HOW LONG DO WE HAVE?
This is the most interesting thing I've read in a long time. The sad thing about it, you can see it coming.
I have always heard about this democracy countdown. It is interesting to see it in print. God help us, not that we deserve it.
How Long Do We Have?
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:
'A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.'
'A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.'
'From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.'
'The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years'
'During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. from bondage to spiritual faith;
2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
3. from courage to liberty;
4. from liberty to abundance;
5. from abundance to complacency;
6. from complacency to apathy;
7. from apathy to dependence;
8. from dependence back into bondage'
Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Gore: 19 Bush: 29
Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000 Bush: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million Bush: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore: 13.2 Bush: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare...' Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the 'complacency and apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.
If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message. If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.
