How hard is it to change out a radiator?
I'm casually looking at a truck for sale that I would need to replace the radiator on. I was just curious if anyone would be able to tell me how much the parts might cost for an early 90s f150 and how difficult it would be to do myself.

it's actually quite simple if you have a very basic tool kit. usually the radiator itself is only held on by either about 4 bolts or just 2 brackets on the top. those and remove the coolant lines and trans cooler lines if it has them.
you may or may not have to remove the fan to do the job. some vehicles you do some you don't. it is something you could do if you are a newb at wrench turning.
you can check prices very easily online or by calling the parts store. also w/o knowing the specifics of the truck (ie: engine size) you can't tell.
price example for a 95 f150 w/ the 5.8 V8 and a new 2 row radiator. $145.99

Ok sweet. Sounds pretty doable and not too expensive.
