Drag slick and wheels size
Hey guys, Im trying to find some info on a good size for drag slick tire and wheel combinations. There looks to be tons to choose from. They will be going on a 2011 gt and as of tomorrow the car will be lowered on Ford Racing springs.
Thanks in advance

What are you hmmm'n about. Its a proven setup that works. Guys are running 8's with this 275 tire. If you have a better suggestion, Id like to hear it

Re: Drag slick and wheels size
Just seems like a small tire for a 10" rim... Surprised its not bigger...
Re: Drag slick and wheels size
You dont need anything bigger.... a 28'' tall tire that needs to flex is perfect for a 10'' rim. We arent talking street tires here.
Too much tire for the power just adds to drag...you dont need a 315 drag radial to get traction.

I prefer the extra wide look. They don't make tires wide enough IMO. This is what I'm going with shortly.

That set up looks pretty sweet! I dont know if he is wanting to go full race with front tires and wheels though. I think were more interested in something that is a complete slick maybe on a 16'' inch wheel. I know the stock tire height is 22 and some change inside the rear wheel well. It kinda sucks seeing this pirreli rubber sticking to the rear quarter panels....lol

Re: Drag slick and wheels size
I have been very interested in this subject. My 2012 burns up 295 nitto 555's. I have read below some fit 15X10 race stars with 325 drag DOT radials. This does take a rear sway bar relocator kit. Does anyone have experience with this?

Re: Drag slick and wheels size
The 15x10 or 15x8 setup is definitely the way to go if you're serious about getting the best 1/4 time from your car. I used a 15x8 wheel with a 275/60/15 Hoosier DR for a little bit and it worked really well. I didn't want to relocate my sway bar so that's why I went with the 15x8. A 325 tire may be overkill for your car. 275/60 DR seems to be a really popular setup for auto cars.
The racestars are very popular but I would shy away from anything uni-lug. Not sure if they still make them or not but it's the most frustrating wheel install I've ever had lol. I know LMR came out with an SVE drift wheel not too long ago too. May be another option for you.
