drag rear wheels and tires for shelby gt 500

does anyone know if i can put a regular gt wheel like a 16 inch on the rear of my car in order to place a drag slick on it I have tried 3 different drag raidals none which will hook up at the drag strip my mile per hour is 121 but my time is 12'o's my 60 ft. time is 2.2 im loosing a 1/2 second off the line please help asap im racing my buddys super charged corvette september 11th at the tulsa drag strip thanks! you can also text me at (918)440-3773.

Most us us use 17 inch BFG on the stock bullet rims. Don't think the 16 inchers will work due to brake clearance.

which 16 inch rim are you wanting to use?

For a GT500... I'd recommend a MT street ET slick or similar. With your HP, it will hook up better.

I know bogart makes a 15 inch rim that will work, but you may have to relocate the sway bar and the rims aren't cheap. Some people at team shelby or svt performance where buying a cheap ugly 16 inch rim from summitt and sticking et streets/slicks on them. The guy that owns the red kb gt500 and the red gt500 kr that runs out Tulsa had bogarts on the kb gt500 and a black summitt 16 inch rim on the kr.

The first time I ran my car I cut a 2.1, but I didn't heat the tires up at all really, I am using the 305/35/18 mt et street radials. I have seen gt500's cut 1.6-1.8 range with these tires. They do work but you have to get the air pressure right and heat the piss out of them up.

Yea, but the clutch was dragging and effed up in that run, I ran 95mph to the 1/8 and lost mph and et to the 1/4. No hook at all but due to me not heating the tires real well, I was hoping to get more than one run but didn't go as planned. It may run 13's when all said and done! :)

Ok you need to find the cop car 16 steel wheels that have a huge offset they look flat looking at them they come off about a 98 crownvic cop car then but the MT ET Street bias they were good for 1.7- 60fts or better preaty squirly at 119. Or just lay down the coin for the bogarts and some real slicks and relocate your swaybar and run 60ft of low 1.50's or better

I have the bogarts for the rear and my best 60 so far is 1.52 with the new clutch should be 1.49, 1.48

I think you met one of my friends out there last year. His name is Andre(Andy) and drove a DSG '03 Cobra. He told me a little about your car. Said it pulled him pretty hard once in Mehico, haha!

What black shelby I ran one that was supposed to have 640 to the tire and it trap a 120 I had him by 5 + car lengths

stedia sus,qu1a shocks,rousch drive line,373gears,3"exhaust,tune pulley,line lock,quick throw,lowered,sway bar delete,most bolt ons,nothing in the motor.

That would probably work pretty good, give you a little more sidewall then the 18 inch ones.

david you better have that dam GT500 in low 12's by the end of the year
