The time has come for what you've all been waiting for!

WHAT: 1st Ever Modular vs. Pushrod Race

WHEN: Saturday, 27 September 2008 beginning at 10:00 AM

WHERE: Tulsa Race Park (3101 N Garnett Rd, Tulsa, OK 74116)

WHO: Everyone is welcome! However, only FORD products are allowed to race.

DETAILS: Gates open at 9:00 AM. Standard Track Rrules apply. Additionaly, MAKO at the Midnight Drags will follow the event at 9:00 PM.

Q. How many people are we going to let in?
A. As many as we can, no limit for now. When the racers show up and we start to pair them up, like at Buick vs. Ford, we'll see who all will race.

Hope we can get some of you guys there the damn pushrods on the Deadhorse forum are really talking it up saying the 3v's aren't going to do s#!t.

There is only 26 of the pushrod guys signed up as of now. and 31 on the mod. side but only like 4 of them are 3v's

Hey I owned an 85 GT and loved that 302 and respect all mustangs. Let them talk crap....these 3V's are quite impressive I think for what little displacment they have. Most of us are in the 12's and doing it with minor bolt ons. These cars are capable of Mid to low 12's with whats in my sig already...ADD some long tubes, one piece driveshaft, and a better drive and there you go.

Now there are some in the club sporting positive displacement blowers :) Greg with around 430RWHP (stock internals) and Jeff (600Rwhp give or take).....Jeremy is running around 430rwhp with his Kenne Bell, And jerry should be right in there with his 03 cobra. Weve got a good bunch...hope its enough

well it would be nice if we have a good S197 turn out. Maybe it will help shut a few of them up.

Man they have some real problems with the 3v over there....sheesh. From a psycology perspective they are jealous of the newer mustang....wether it be looks or style..they are jealous. Take a factory stock mustang from any year and you wont be running mid 13s off the showroom floor from any pushrod that I know of running around town. Yes you can get those rare breeds that had big power packages...but factory for factory...those little 91 and 92 GTs most have over there were barely 14 sec cars... most running 15s around here. So a car running 2 seconds faster in the 1/4 is slow? hmmm not sure where that info is coming from. Bolt on for Bolt on our 3Vs will overtake those cars....slap a supercharger on a 5.0...slap that same supercharger on a 3v....3v wins.

Am I wrong here? Or missing somethign?

I have to say that I was taken back abit from all the shit talk over there. I think that alot of them have lined up with some real dodes that couldn't drive and beat them or saw the same type of show at the track and just assume that all the cars in the S197 group are that way. I guess they'll shit their pants when some of ours get out and run consistant 12 second runs. We've all seen the guys that cant get their 13 second cars out of the 14-15 second zone. They have apparently tainted the perception for the rest of us.

lol.. LxHatch302 talking all that smack doesnt even have a car that runs right know. I know for fact he lifted a head and tore the motor up. His little brother was over wanting to buy my SHO a week ago. Granted it ran pretty damn fast before that but it obviously didnt last.

I'm in for this I do have another pulley ready to go. Those guys are nuts those push rod motors were good motors but its old school now from the factory they didn't make shit for HP and the cars weight was alot less than ours. They are just pissed cause we rule with looks and power I say bring it lets

Believe me. I am a huge pushrod fan, I would rather rebuild one of those any day of the week and I know where every bolt goes. A cam change is easier/cheaper, a carb and intake are WAAAAY cheaper than a efi intake, throttle body, maf and injectors to do the same thing. THey make great power and the LOVE rpm. But the 3V is a stout motor in its own right and from the factory runs circles around a factor fox car. This will be a cool event and those guys should take it for what its worth and thats just some fun. Both are Fords and you wont catch me bashing another ford (unless you put a fart muffler on your fiesta). Those guys need to grow up and show some class.

Fox's are great for stright lines... Easy and cheap platforms to build. FOR A STRAIGHT LINE.

But sorry... drive a Fox and then drive a S197 and there no comparison.

Bettter yet... drive a AC Cobra! It has a pushrod but no Heat or AC, No Radio, etc. Just raw and nasty. Plus (as David puts it) the cock value is off the hook mofo!

I agree with Brent on this one..... I would love to have a built Fox in the garage next to my S197. On a different note...I MISS the 302 Pushrod Idle and sound of the exhaust....there is no replacent for my 2 chamber Flowmasters, H pipe and turndowns....had an F cam in it and idled like a champ!! You cant replace that sound with my 3V no matter how hard I try
