well yesterday was one hell of a day, track event in the morning and baby shower in the evening. was a good day.

was the first time on a track since putting the cams and new tires on. i was pleasantly surprised by the nitto invoes they held for the whole session and didnt get very greasy.

the cams held a new problem however. dues to a lack of vacuum i had to keep the engine spun up the entire time(i rarely dropped below 4,000 rpm) coming into corners i found a lack of braking pressure till i downshifted and engined braked to bring vacuum up to max(was engine braking to an average of 4,500 rpm) at that point braking pressure would rise enough for me to brake for the turn. at this point im convinced a vacuum pump is required. im also going to be installing larger brakes on the front and back(gt500 front, Eradispeed plus 2's in the rear)

i could run about 5 laps at full speed before i would have to slow down for a lap to let my brakes cool. i was fully engaging ABS(after engine braking to bring pressure up) into the corners. once i get my vacuum problems solved i wont need a cool down lap for the brakes. the lack of vacuum was DEFINITELY exacerbating brake fade.

other then the minor problems i had it was a great day. i ran in the advanced class with another driver. we went toe to toe during all the events. he would catch me in the corners i would walk him in the straights, his striped fox weighed around 2700 pounds, caged, full suspension, NTO1 tires unfortunately he was working with a stock bluprinted 5.0. he'll be installing a more powerful engine before next year. chad if you read this i'll be ready for when you get this motor installed, that fox of yours is one NASTY corner carving machine cheers

speaking of straights i hit 105 on the longest straight. the extra power from the cams definitely made a difference.

i fully support further events at the sheriffs training track. the track is nice, very smooth and has excellent friction quality's for tires.

I don't think that I have ever heard of a real man going to a baby shower....
It's one of those things real men are exempt from.
