Re: GENERAL CHAT
i have slicks on the way, right now i use the mickey thompson et streets, they are a bias ply, they work pretty well.
david and jarrod are twinkies and use BFG drag radials, all of them are 275 \40\17's i believe. we all use 17 inch stocker rims to mount them on.
when i get my slicks i could sell you my ET streets and rims, i won't be needing them anymore

Bob...you having an automatic might run better on the Bias Ply Drag tires.
Doc what size are your tires and do you have a link for bob to look at them?
If a bias ply isnt what you want bob... the BFG 275\40\17'' drag radial is your best bet. Just buy 2 stock bullet wheels from someone...( I believe Paul still has his) and mount them on those rims.
As for slicks... Doc is waiting on his racing rims to come in...but yes he has Slicks in the garage waiting.

Wow thats a loaded question. But I would have to go with the GT500. For me the roush is nice but is just about tapped as far as power goes. The GT500 however has lots of room for improvement. For me the Shelby would get the nod. I am a power junkie so the thought of having an honest 600 hp with not much money in aftermarket parts get me a bit stiff! LOL

Re: GENERAL CHAT
Hey all. Made it back from Santa Rosa NM. Very cool trip.
As most of you know I44 and I40 runs right beside Route 66. So before we left on Friday, I printed out a bunch of 66 history and places to stop along the way. Since we were'nt going to dive until (Sat) yesterday we could take out time and makes some stops along the way.
You history buff would have loved it. We stopped at several of the well know Route 66 sites and a few ghost towns. The ghost towns were the amazing. Old abobe built structures melting and decaying with time. Old cars including a Ford Edsel that someone turned into a flat bed truck abandoned left to rust away.
Some towns we spent up to 30 mins just walking around looking and wondering what the people that use to live and thrive there must have thought as they built the interstate just 1/4 away. The whole time we were there walking around not one car drove past on old route 66. Sad. It really gave you sense of what it was like the day the interstate opened and bypassed these towns.
I got some great pics that I'll upload later.

I went and looked at a Torch Red GT500 today. Boy was it nice and I agree, for the same price its a no brainer especially if you are more into straight line then road coarse and upgradeability. It sure got my attention!!!

Very Cool!!!!
I stayed in Santa Rosa once way back in 1982 when I was on my way to Vegas. Parked my 1969 Road Runner in front of a tiny motel on there main 'business district' road in town.

Re: GENERAL CHAT
Yep. I do like the Roush but for the my money the shelby would be my choice. From what I understand the prices on the shelby should be coming down soon to just at sticker. They are planning to make the GT500 until at least 2010 so the inflated pricing should come to an end. Making them more reasonable to purchase. I'm waiting for the 2010 model to see what is in store. Rumors of a GT with 4-500 RWHP might get me to buy a new one at that time.

Good to hear you made it ok Paul. How was the filming of Willow II attack of the Jerbear? Word got out that you weren't actually diving in the desert but actually filming the sequel to "Willow" .LOL

Last year the mark-up on the GT500's put the prices at about $60,000 so that was one reason I bought my 427R but when I was looking today at the sticker and it was $47,000 and I've heard that these cars just aren't moving like last year so getting it close to sticker would be a good deal. I'm not sure if Cooper or Hurley is marking up these cars over sticker or not but prices seem to be on the way down. I bet by the end of the year you could get one for under sticker to move them off the lot like they did last year. I'm not sure I'd buy one now since my 427R is only 11 payments away from paid off so the stars would have to line up pretty well for me to want to start that process all over again.

Got my latest monthly MM&FF magazine. Had a cool article on a 2008 Candy Apple Red 427R (Automatic) Roush. Here's the times they reported @ E-Town: Those are very good times!! I've seen those MPH numbers before but those et's are, well amazing, especially with the street tires. I can't imagine? Thoughts?
Factory Trim(street tires)
Best:12.44@108
Drag Radials:
12.32@109.36 (1.76 60')
Colder Day::::
12.20@109

Re: GENERAL CHAT
I'd say thats about right. Consider that my mph is 108.75 and I have gone 12.61 A blown car should run at least 3 tenths faster I would however have thought that the mph should have been a bit higher on the street tire run. You usually see a higher mph when you suffer a lot of traction loss. The mph actually seems a bit low to me all over the board. I guess this could be contributed to the hp loss with an auto car.

Just off the top of my head all the video's/posts/time slips I've viewed , I can't recall seeing a 'stock tuned' S/C Roush run 110 MPH. Thats not to say it can be done but I just can't recall seeing any.

The easy answer is... both! Members can donate via the "Donate Here" link and the club can pay via sponsors fees. The more members donate here, the more the club can pay for other things.
