If thats the case I need an apartment really close to campus. Can't afford to drive 50 miles a day at those prices.

On a positive note if it does get that high it will be the final nail in the coffin for Obama and his regime. No one would put up with that.

I can agree with the 5+ a gal. Obama already said he thought it was a "sustainable" price. If it does I see the ressession back with a vengeance
Maybe just me?

Honestly I agree... If the 5+ a gallon happens we are in for a world of hurt. Im originally from europe where the gas is 8+ a gallon but if you think about it the mass transit over there is really damn good. Here you cant get anywhere without driving... On top of that I dont see my pay going up to make up for the increase in gas and food.....So recession here we come...again

Re: Gas Prices....
Gas won't hit $5/gal. anytime in the near future - fear (of unrest in the Middle East) is the only reason oil remains above $100/bbl. right now, as fundamentals remain weak (e.g.; higher than anticipated inventory figures). I predict it will soon go down to $90/bbl., perhaps lower.

That's what's funny. They say oh well its xx.xx in europe. Funny part is last time I was there I asked how they survive. I quickly found out about the massive transit system as stated. Also 90% of the cars over there are diesel and its cheaper with better mpg.
Take it for what its worth I guess. I enjoy my "cheap gas" while I can. Shits not gettin any cheaper

Just filled mine up....not too bad $42.00 91 oct 100% gas.
I avg around 15-17 in the city and get around 22-23 on the highway. Not too bad for a 600+ Hp car :)
If Gas prices get insane, I will look for a daily and or share the wifes fusion. She gets around 21-22 MPG around city.....28 give or take on the highway.
Man I remember when I turned 16 or so...gas was around $.92 per gallon! That was 13 years ago....not long.

which car......
the 07 is going in to get the bugs worked out of it and tuned.
the 86 is going to the body shop for a good bit of work. both door skins, the rear left fender has a bit of cancer, hail damage on the roof, return it to it's 4 eye'd glory, and it will match the 07's colors only they will be opposite. on the 07 the main color is alloy & on top of the ram air crimson black, it's a 2010 nissan maxima color. before it goes to the body shop it will get the drivetrain & interior pulled so the paint is all the same color everywhere.

Re: Gas Prices....
I cant tell you the last time my car had a full tank of gas, actually I can and that was before christmas. I refrain myself from doing so because I have no self control when it comes to the gas pedal. :/
I can get about 18mpg if I baby it everywhere. And I dont. So i'm lookin at probably...14mpg or so? My dad gets about 8 in his 97 F250 with a 460. I feel bad for him. He has a perfectly good 96 GT to drive and he still drives the truck.
I keep getting invited to these facebook event thingies and they say:
"Don't pump gas on March 14 2011. .In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.
On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in
Protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.50 a gallon in most places.
There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet
Network and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.
If all users did not go to the pump on the 14th, it would take
$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil company’s
Pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on March
14th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for
at least one day."
Eh. Whats your input on that guys?

doesn't work. People who don't go on that day just go the day before or the day after. Oil/gas prices aren't driven by our need for gas, they are driven by the cost of the oil to make the gas...

Re: Gas Prices....
LOL! Those Internet "no gas" days are a laugh for me! Guaranteed it was started by a tree-hugger. They have every right to protest the rising price of gas; but they should do so in a more effective way - by selling their car and walking everywhere and quit using/consuming all products made from oil. And by the way, oil companies don't set the price for oil.

I heard this past monday that the oil options trading bought and sold so many oil contracts (speculators) that it bought all the world's oil supply for that day (8 times) over.

yep. damn speculators are betting on oil that hasnt even been removed from the ground yet. we need to stop importing oil and sustain our own needs. OPEC will continue to eat our lunch as long as we keep borrowing the money from China to hand over to them. brush up on your Mandarin folks, we'll all be speaking it soon.
