2011-12 GT prices?
Hey all, newb here. Nice forum. I'm in the market for a new ride (debating between a used Z06 or new GT). I was hoping you could give me an idea of what 2011-12 GT's are running OTD these days. I've found a few barely used 2011's (<10k miles) for around 28-29k, but unless that's at least $2k or so less than I can get brand new I'd just a soon spend the extra money for brand new. Thanks in advance!
Justin

Welcome Justin. You can find used 2011s for mid to upper 20s
You can find some with mods already done to save a little cash. For example:
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/2011-mustang-gt-v6-buy-sell-368/774375-2011-mustang-gt-grabber-blue.html
2012s are mostly going to be in the mid to lower 30's
What year Z06 are you looking at?

I've been looking at 01-03 Z06's. It's a tough decision. I'm a former f-body guy, I've always admired Mustangs but thought they were a bit under powered with the 4.6's (save Cobra's, GT500's etc.). But ever since I read about the new 5.0 I've been intrigued to say the least.
Badass car you have there BTW.

Hey Justin. I do like Vettes. Except Tony's... Tony's should have come with breasts. I mean it's damm near a Miata.
But given your price range and what you want I'd do the 5.0. Best thing to drive both and make the call.

Hey Justin, I'm new here as well. I just ordered a 2012 gt and it was in the very low 30s, base gt with brembos and 3.73s. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks, Buck. Not a bad price with those options.

Love all year Zo6's, hard to argue the performance.
But like you said...the new 5.0 is very enticing and is producing F-Body LS motor performance numbers. Just a few bolt ons and you are over 400rwhp.
Plus you get all the amenities of having the latest technology: Sync navigation, Brembo Brakes, stiffer chassi, Tri-VCT power, back seats, etc
Good luck with your decision....I dont think you can go wrong with either choice.

5.0.... 5.0..... 5.0.... 5.0...... Well if you can ride a Vett for a while and then ride a mustang, i think that will definably help you decision making. I loved the vetts and almost bought one when I was in the Marines many years ago. I finally got to sit in one (91 model) and my butt felt like it was dragging on the ground To me it felt like it hit the bumps hard. I went with the fox body mustang and been with a mustang ever since. That's just me.
