Re: Goodbye mustang
It rides like a 3/4 ton truck, but I love the feel of it and the seats! They are like the cobras. And the stick is perfectly right where your hand can rest on the center console. It gets horrific gas mileage though, definetly not a daily driver

Re: Goodbye mustang
I would imagine it has terrible gas mileage but it sure is nice looking... I tried to get one about 2 years ago but they were definitely out of my price range at the time.

Re: Goodbye mustang
Stock 500hp... and only a 0-60 in 5.2 and the 1/4 in 13.8. A stock s197 has those times. And less than half the price. It's a truck...

Re: Goodbye mustang
Yes Hennessey is a bit expensive.... But since I dont actually own the truck, Ill be ok!
Yes I LIED, it was a joke.... It is something I have always wanted though, and my wife is trying to get me to buy it.. But I think she is realizing we might have to live in it with how much gas it uses and the payment on it, guess we could sell the other cars we have, but still wouldnt quite work.
But I do plan on either that or a ligthning this fall or next spring when she is done with nursing school and actually has a job again
The truck is still a fun truck, and yes I know its slow for what it has, but damn its a fun truck to drive and it definetly gets the looks. I have always had a truck or SUV and this just got me back on wanting the L or SRT, so hopefully things will turn this fall and I will get one... Ill try for an L first so I can stay here with all you wonderful people!

your F'ing point??? I believe there are quite a few trucks in the world that are worthy of spanking a GT500... And I'll just stick with lightnings to please the ford crowd....
I'm not saying I'm fast in my gt or the srt, but some people like cars, some like trucks... Others mix the two and you get srt's and lightnings

Re: Goodbye mustang
Sorry. I was in construction many many moons ago. I had to drive trucks. I hated them. I swore if I ever got out of the business I would never drive one again. I have to go to Shreveprort about once a month and they always give me a truck. I still hate them. It's a personal thing. I would never spend my good hard earned money on a f'ing truck. But that's just me.
But again, that's just me.

Re: Goodbye mustang
Yeah, some people hate them. I grew up driving diesels and tractors and lifted trucks... So put me in a L or an SRT and I'm in heaven!

Re: Goodbye mustang
I drove it. I guess I am use to boost. It's torquey, but doesn't really get up and go. It does ride like a 3/4 ton. It runs decent. Needs a tune at the least. I guess I was expecting more from 500hp and 500tq. It's a truck.

Re: Goodbye mustang
I like em as long as they are used for there intended use. I don't get the people that buy a lightning or SRT10 and then won't throw anything in the bed or tow anything with it. Why buy a truck if that's the case? I've owned 2 Lightnings and they were cool. But I did use them as intended.
The SRT10 was super hot when it first came out. All the buzz about the viper motor and all... they stickered around $50. But dealers where asking $25k more than that for em.
Yet once again... Dodge was late to the party. Truck sales were tanking and the excitement quickly waned and 5 years later now you can find them for as low as $25k. Actually... now is the time to buy if so desired.

Re: Goodbye mustang
Well all cars tank over time Paul... Most cars tank 1 second it leaves the lot... The only things holding their value right now are challengers, camaros, wranglers and any truck with a diesel motor in it.
Let's not discuss what manufacturers have done with asking for new cars and how much over sticker, I can name one in particular and it starts with KR
truck sales didn't truly tank until 2008 and the srt was killed in 06 when they halted the viper for a year.

Don't forget 03-04 terminators. Those have held their value very well.
