Ford May Avoid Bailout Even After First-Quarter Loss
Looks like Ford is still "Built Ford Tough" though. Even when things are bad..gotta love it..

Re: GM to close U.S. plants for 9 weeks
Ford's 1st quarter lost albeit a hefty $1.4 billion was almost 1/2 of what was forecast. That's good news... while no company can continue to operate at a loss, it a sign that their restructuring plan is working.
I think they still have $20+ billion in reserve. Ford was the only automaker to secure loans prior to the economic woes. Smart move... It probably saved there ass.
Chrysler and GM... I bet within the next two weeks, Chrysler will declare BK. The talks with between them and Fiat (who would have thought!) aren't going well. GM will follow suit early this summer.

Read an article in the WSJ about this a few months ago. They were only speculating at the time. They said Saturn would also go bye bye and that looks to be the case too. I was surprised Buick would go first. But I guess they sell a bunch of them in China.
Never been a big fan of Ponitacs, never cared for the styling, but I still hate to see a legacy car maker shut it's doors.

Looks like the US auto industry is about to look abit different. I wonder how the Camaro will fair with pending cuts/plants closings?
