if i leave Oklahoma to chase a future job in Aviation, the next state might need cats for inspection. I'm originally from New Jersey and we ddo smog and nock test at 15 mph on the rollers.
i put the slip on X pipe and it made my car quiet again. it does sound a bit European. I got to get use to it.

Hector, The Pro-50 another member had was horrible. The Steeda Tri-Ax is basically the same thing and mine works great! The Hurst is also good many of the other have this one. The problem Jeff had with the Pro50 was the thing was in a bind all the time. He had to use two hands to get the shifter into 5th gear. Jeff chime in here.

Re: light your pipes boys!
well if i get the hurst, i'm going to use the same shifter nob then. that adjusting nut that holds the ball.... (lol, my dirty mind) rubs on my fingers. feels annoying for me.

Re: light your pipes boys!
Hector if you like the Pro 5.0 I would go with the Steeda Triax shifter. virtually the same design but is a much better performing shifter.

Re: light your pipes boys!
dose it jumps back into neutral when shifting,(2nd to 3rd) like them fox body style mustang pro 5.0 did? i never missed a gear in my Tremec with it.

Re: light your pipes boys!
You cant compare the previous shifters like the fox to our shifters. COMPLETLY different design. Ours have an arm that connects rather than just a shifter with a ball that drips into the tranny. Your previous experience with shifters has to be thrown out the window.
The Pro 5.0 has been prone to be VERY hard to get into 5th and reverse.
Steedas Triax and MGW are probably the best shifters out there as far as performance. The Hurst performs very well but is kinda knotchy or mechanical to most. Its a pretty shifter though :) and priced very well.

Re: light your pipes boys!
Jarrod is right about the shifters. The Tri-Ax self centers for third gear. All you have to do is push up. I can attest to the fact that the Tri-Ax is a good shifter. The Hurst is also a quality unit. Can't say how it shifts because I have never had one in my car but I drove Jarrods car once and it seemed to perform well. If you go over to the video section and watch some of my videos you can see how quick the shifts come. Only had a few missed shifts and I can relate those to either the clutch being too warm or driver error. (yes Jarod I screw up too) lol.

Re: light your pipes boys!
Tri-Ax here in my t-56. Along with a different quadrant and firewall shifter. It's a little notchy but when you're bang'n the gears you can't really tell. I'm going to be practicing/perfecting my power shifting technique. Hopefully I can get me a mid-11 second timeslip here soon.

Re: light your pipes boys!
I'm all gitty too. My tires will be here soon (hopefully wednesday!) and I should be able to at least get a couple good break in runs on them at the local 1/8th mile track. Then, I plan on a trip up there to Tulsa or at the very least Noble to get my 11 sec time slip.
On a side note, I'm not sure if they make shifters for you S197 guys, but MGW is supposed to be another top shifter on the market. I may ditch my Tri-Ax for the MGW here in a few months, just to see how it compares.

Re: light your pipes boys!
They do. The thing is BadAss! But it's pretty pricey. I believe that it is hands down the best shifter on the market if you want to pay for it.
