Very cool!!!!! David when are we going to get started?

I am planning to have the car in the driveway this weekend to start on the motor portion of the project. Getting it running right, new gaskets and o2 sensors, then over to mike for the paint and body, then back to the secret location for the interior and remaining items. shifty

Jerry what do you suggest using to degrease the motor? Simple green? then car wash power spray? Its not too bad right now but I would like to get it spotless before it goes for paint so we dont worry about trying to clean it after the new paint goes on.

Anyone who wants to stop by on Saturday let me know.

Go to pep boys or whereever and get an engine cleaner and degreaser. I have a couple of things we could use and bring over to you. As far as brand name, not sure. I always use a strong degreaser and the pressure washer at the car wash.

Post by 07Shelby500 2/15/2009, 2:40 am

I did an initial decrease of the motor yesterday as well as strip of 80% of the interior Im hoping to have the car over to mike and the guys at accent by next weekend. I have to confirm this with them first of course. While the guys are hooking up the outside we can work with the interior panels that I have removed from the car.

I will have the interior gutted for paint and the mechanical items done before the car goes to accent. I need to figure out a spot to keep the car after it leaves the body shop. Anyone have any ideas?

David, I will try to get out to inola to get the wing maybe tomorrow and coordinate with the guy that is tracing me for the saleen. Whats the latest we can get the wing. I still need to meet the guh probably in stroud or somewhere to trade them out.

Or would you rather put the Cobra wing on it. The cobra wing would require them to fill in holes in the rear deck after the stocker is removed. Which way would you rather go. Cobra or Saleen.

Oh and Jarrod, If I run to meet the guy halfway do you want to go with me? We can play with the sync in the edge.

David, What kind of shape are the door handles in? I know they were plastic on the newer fox cars. The Bronco II in the garage rigth now has the same door handles but they are metal and in descent shape. If we need them I will drill the rivits out and get them off.

lol.. Ok.. Good deal.. I know the plastic ones on the later fox bodies were crap.. I may pull them just in case. The firs time some kid apes the door handle on the passenger side its probably dead so at least we will have some spares around that way.

David, Do you have any interest in putting 83-86 tail lights on the car? I have a set that with some pinstripes are the same as 93 cobra lights. If you want to put them they are yours. It may not look good but thought I would offer them up if you want them.

Yeah maybe, when it comes out of paint the plan is to look at the fine details to bring it all together. So etching could be somthing we could do. I'll know better after I see the car painted.

Mine has a lot of bump steer. Part of that is the wider tires, but will camber plates help mine as well?
