So, I was on my way to school last night.... I got on the BA Exressway in BA. I looked in my rearview mirror, what did I see? a Cobra and Corvette. I got a little excited, I haven't really gotten to race anyone yet.... the vette pulled up next to me, next thing.... 145 mph ( I was starting to think about what I heard about the Mustang drive shafts at 150+ ) so I slowed down. It was a white vette, late model... had a custom tag (but I forgot what it was)... also, he was a bit faster (took him a min or two to pass me)

Anyways, we got on it twice.... I don't even know where the Cobra went?!? [He couldn't seem to keep up] .... When I slowed down the second time, I rolled down my window and asked [more like yelled] the guy if his car was stock.... it wasn't... after that he went sideways a bit at 70mph...

I guess I just forgot how much fun it was street race... anyone else have a story?

It happens. I try to refrain as much as possible but from time to time you just can't help yourself. LOL

Hate to be a buzz kill. This happened last night near OKC. The two men are known by Deadhorse mustang club and will be missed. Car was unrecognizable. They had to run the plates to tell what kind of car it was. Sherrif said it was the worst wreck hes seen in 30 years. Bottom line....accidents can and will happen. Be careful

I get challenged once a week to some form of racing and I usually pass. I have had people pull up to me going 75 mph and want to launch from that speed and I just laugh. Racing from 75 to 140 is not racing. That is really a game of chicken. Now I have blown some kids a away at the light but my fun is from 40mph to 80 mph.

It's only fun until it's not........

Even in a controlled environment, racing is dangerous. The problem with public streets is that innocent people can get hurt.

At a recent "club event" I attended, a friend in a Shelby GT left the roadway at a "high rate of speed" in order to miss an oncoming vehicle. He is very lucky to be alive today, and I personally will never "race" anywhere but on a sanctioned track ever again.

If you choose otherwise, please choose the conditions carefully. Don't need to lose anyone else.

When I was younger... it happened a lot. It's been a long time since I've done it. Wiser with age I guess. I save the racing for the track. Road or Drag.

My power band is EVERYWHERE!!! hahahah.... She gets pretty froggy in 1st, 2nd, 3rd.... 3000 rpm and climbing.... I do need a dyno tune... but then I need Travis and Aaron to keep their mouths shut when I come in for service. I have read multiple posts on the poor AF ratio and timing from the Roush tune. I have a few things on my "to do" list for her! Its a her, btw.... I don't have a name yet... I'm a bad parent! hahahaha lol!

I have done my share of street and highway runs but mostly when I was younger. But since I have bought the mustang more people seem to want to mess with me at stoplights and as long as no cops are around i dont mind blasting them in first and then just a hair into second. Half the time I dont even break the speed limit berfore they get the hint.. But I agree its dangerous and I dont recommencd it.. but I am not th eone to point fingers at anyone..

I have the dreaded low profile Nitto tires so I can break the tires loose in 4th gear when the whipple is screaming. I am going to get the drag radials once these tires wear out.

I am in the same boat as Dean, I need to get on a Dyno and get some numbers. I should be 450 at the wheel but who knows.

i'll admit to this one, i played with an Audi TT down 41st up to 60mph than quickly slowed down

an than i pulled up on a red light next to a new honda civic, i look over an see an asian guy in it, im like those are kinda nice, he looks at me an i look at him than we both look back at the road, he revs, so i rev, light turns green, so im like what 3 cars ahead an i see him back there spinning his tires for a good 5 seconds, so i slowed down an was gonna ask him what happend an he jus flew by me.

I guess i need to stop trying to pass 140mph in my car. on a certain road on my way home, at a certain time, i usually drop the hammer in 3rd and let her rip. i usually hit it before or a little after 140 mph. last time i did that my radar wasn't going off but i did see light bars on 2 car ahead of me. i hit the brakes pretty hard, that it was making my car swerve a bit. I know one was a white Impala and the other, i wasn't sure. No more 140's for me on the high way.
