Approx. 85 sq. ft. of FatMat Rattle Trap Sound Dampening Material - *FREE*
I ordered 100 sq. ft. of this stuff to install in my Mustang. Got the trunk about 1/3 done and then left the car closed up in the garage for three days when the temp never exceeded 50 degrees - when I opened a door I could smell it a little. Did some more research and discovered that Rattle Trap (along with several other similar dampening materials) contains butyl with an asphalt filler to keep the costs down - it's the asphalt component I was smelling. Granted I've got a sensitive nose, but I got paranoid about what my car would smell like after sitting outside all day in the Oklahoma summers and decided to go with 100% butyl material. On a positive note, I did put a flame to a small sample of Rattle Trap and didn't notice any stronger of an odor, so there's a chance the smell would dissipate over time. Also, note that I discovered you can remove this stuff with judicious use of a heat gun and a lot of patience - get it to just the right temperature with the heat gun and you can peel it off, adhesive and all.
I'm too late to return this to the vendor for credit and the shipping costs would be exhorbitant if I were to put it up on eBay. So, my loss is your gain! I'll give the rest of the Rattle Trap to the first one that PMs me wanting it, but consider yourself forewarned and I take no responsibility for it after it leaves my hands.

Would definitely be an improvement over Vista Blue. And it would be sort of self-healing in case of door dings, etc.
