I think i hate my car :(

I can officially drive a standard but
i think im beginning to hate my car :wheep:

I mean driving my car has never been this boring,
i got to have a standard or i think i will go crazy!!!!
and Bf is being stingy with his lil rx-7 grrrr wont let me drive it.

i might even be slipping into..............the dark side "DUH DUH DUUUUUH"

too bad im upside down on my car or i'd trade mine in for a stock GT

Do you plan to get any sort of a tax return in the next few months? If so put that money towards your current loan and trade up. The car market is bad right now so you should be able to find a good deal.

Just hang with it... If you're going to sell it, sell it yourself. You won't get much on trade in. A private party will pay more, especially with your GT add ons.

yeah i think i'll put all my tax return money towards my loan.....i should of done that last year when i got back over $1500

if you want to keep your baby and make her fun add some gears and a sc'er and you'll be killing basic bolt-on gt's all day. let me rephrase that........you should be killing. you'll still have cheaper insurance also. although my insurance is pretty cheap on my 07 GT as it is. i pay under $600 every 6 months for my mustang and my 02 durango.

When I was at Grand Prairie Ford the fastest car on the lot was a GT automatic with a Roush TVS charger.

Hang in there, Amanda! I went through a stage with my car where I wished I'd gotten the manual transmission, but I'm over it. Especially since getting the CAI kit and accompanying tune, this is a very fun car to drive! Kurtis reprogrammed the shift points in my transmission; that really opened it up. Only auto I've ever driven that will scratch rubber shifting into second and third.

even my family car will be a standard

wont have to worry about my own kids in the future stealing the car for a joy ride :)

when they get almost old enough to drive...all they'll know how to drive is a standard and wont even think an automatic will exist or even hear of one, and when they do hear of automatics they will think that kind of technology is revolting and for sissys

And 6 speeds!

How true! It's like having an old 60's 4 speed plus plus! 4 speeds for track type stuff, 5th gear for 150mph+ top end, and 6th for cruisin'.

how short are the gears on the shelbys?

With a 323 rear end, not short at all. The car needs a 373. That would be perfect. They put the tall rear end and detuned the car to get better gas milage. Luckily, that can be easily remedied....

the last shelby i drove
had a hurst shifter in it
it was a little tough cause im not used to having 1st and 2nd so close to where im having a bit of a time finding neutral.

I'll have to admit that getting used to the 6 speed takes a while. Neutral is between 3rd & 4th so you have to spring over for 1st & 2nd or 5th & 6th.

I actually thought you were asking how tall or short the gears were. Compared to my other GTs and considering my failing memory, I would say the first 3 gears are about the same as a GT, 6th is taller than a GT 5th, and the extra "room" if you will is split between 4th 5th and 6th.

So what this boils down to is that I never (OK, seldom) get out of 3rd in town, and the first 4 gears are fantastic for racing to triple digits and high rpms, 5th is good for NASCAR competition, and 6th is good for saving gas, I think......

yeah she was a bit tough to drive...considering how inexperienced i was than,

but anyways cory finally gave in and let me drive his car :) i drove the poo out of it untill it was time to go home
and on the way back on in my car it felt pretty nice to just drive w/o shifting, like a nice easy relaxing cruise.
