Re: MODS VS. RODS SHOOTOUT 9-27-2008
Why thank you! Like David said...very lopsided pairing in favor of the Rod side.
I managed 13.1 and then 13.2 and on my final run where I took one for the Modular side with a Bye I ran a 13.0 @ 105.4
Congrats to all who attended! Had a blast.

Re: MODS VS. RODS SHOOTOUT 9-27-2008
Yes Jarrod you are right he ran an 11.54, I dont know how it worked out as for the awards I finished talking to Chris from K&M made another run then loaded the car up and started to leave and orangeRcode flaged me down and told me I had won the Mod low ET got my 25 and plaque and took some pictures with the winners. It was either the best in qualifying or the best average time I dont know my worst run was a 12.00 so :mooning2:

Re: MODS VS. RODS SHOOTOUT 9-27-2008
How much does it cost to get an event like that set up? I would think with the amount of sponsors we have and the number of club members we could put on a better show. I would like to help plan a spring event if we could do it. Set up a bracket style event. Show DHM how to put on a show and draw a crowd.

Re: MODS VS. RODS SHOOTOUT 9-27-2008
I would like to apologize to Jerry, Greg and Justin for not mentioning there acomplishments in my list of the days activities. I didn't mean to make light of you guys. Both Jerry and Justin hit major milestones with personal bests that should have some recognition and Greg was as fast as I've seen on Sat clinching the top et for the modular side. Congrats! You guys you did awesome. Just wait for that cooler fall air and then see what you get! I can't wait. Great job guys!

Re: MODS VS. RODS SHOOTOUT 9-27-2008
Thanks for the recognition. It's all about you isn't it
I will have to get some 101 octane for the cooler weather. I have noticed on the cool nights that it knocks a little. Plus, on my run that I ran the 12.4, I was pushing close to 7,000 rpm's at the line. At least with the higher octane it might be a little safer. Also might start considering shifting to 4th. Any other ideas??

I was trying to post that in a positive way, hope it didn't come across as negative. Really just disappointed with the overall turnout of cars. I would have like to of seen more guys from the area there, Arkansas, Kansas, those places should have had mustangs down here. IMHO, I think it was poorly advertised and put together by TRP. With a little bit of work, they could have a really fun event.

Don't forget the 12.8 you ran in my car. At least you broke 13's for the day.

Re: MODS VS. RODS SHOOTOUT 9-27-2008
After the Mods Vs. Rods shootout a couple of tha real quick push rod cars stayed for the midnights and had a horrific crash. They were lucky. Their safety equipment probably saved their lives. Here is a link to the video

Re: MODS VS. RODS SHOOTOUT 9-27-2008
Ouch.... Looks like the guy in the spectator lane (Right lane for those familar with TRWP) lost a left front wheel or something with his suspension to make him shoot over into the left lane,
Were both cars totaled?

Re: MODS VS. RODS SHOOTOUT 9-27-2008
Josh was the car that changed lanes nobody really knows what happened he just lifted and the car went left and hit the wall Trevor almost t boned him but the race before that Josh ran over another cars hood Josh's car was totaled and Trevors is fixable last I heard. Stuff happens quick at those speeds

Re: MODS VS. RODS SHOOTOUT 9-27-2008
Front left tire blew??? Since he hit the hood the race before... It seemed to happen in an instant, like something broke, blew, whatever.

If you look close at the video you can see his car turn slightly to the right just before it veers sharply to the left.

Ahhh.. Maybe an outside force. If you look close, you can see what appears to be a banana peal on the track...

Re: MODS VS. RODS SHOOTOUT 9-27-2008
Somebody posted over on DH that there was a break and subsiquent cleanup of radiator fluid just before that run. Makes you wonder if there was some fluid on the track.
