2012 seats vs 2006

I recently read that 2012 seats have more pronounced side bolsters than previous mustangs. Can anyone verify this?
I am hesitant to get racing seats because I dont want to lose the ability to raise the seats. I dont like how high the doors set in relation to my shoulders (when I rest my arm on the door) and always raise my seat to compensate.
Would it be feasible to order the back part of a 2012 seat from ford and have it attached to the bottom part of the seat I have? I thinik they are 264 from this page. http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/CatalogResults.aspx?y=2012&m=Ford&mo=Mustang#Search
