air fuel gauge???
Hey guys... whats the difference in a wide band and narrow band air/ fuel gauge? Witch one should I be using on my 2002 ford ranger? I didn't realized I purchased a narrow band off Ebay. The gauge I bought was a Pro-comp ultra-lite from Auto meter. part #4375.

Lets go peeps. Let hear your knowledge on this. I'm calling Jarrod 2.0 out on this one. He's the man on research.
Notes:
Will work with most factory narrow-band O2 sensors. May require model 2244 in the Accessories Section.
LED digital display.
Will not work with Wide Band O2 sensors, please check your application.
Gauge has no provision for lighting.
This product has no provision for dial illumination/backlighting.
Instrument features brushed aluminum dial in silver finish with matching silver anodized bezel.

Re: air fuel gauge???
big difference is narrow band is just a pretty light that moves around. wide band actually tells you numerically what your air fuel ratio is.
I will let Jarrod go into the massive detail between the two

Re: air fuel gauge???
You'll need an aftermarket wide band O2 sensor installed in your exhaust and a wide band meter to get the most accurate reading.

Re: air fuel gauge???
i have an autometer w/b now, but think i'm going to swap it for a different one. i have to buy the wiring harness anyway so may as well upgrade to a better gauge completely. i'm thinking the innovative w/b

Re: air fuel gauge???
i started looking at gauges more the last couple days. check out the aeroforce gauge. one gauge will let you monitor 2 things at once. most of the things come straight from your computer, but there are a few other things that you can get a sensor for (boost, wideband a/f). it really is an awesome gauge.

I stop by Arch Angle and they said that was a really good gauge, Bob. They installed a few them selves. I just bought one in blue. Thanks for the find buddy.

look down to where you see custom faces. you can get black, silver, or white. blank w/o a logo or pick from one they have. finally you can get a brushed, black, or polished ring

Re: air fuel gauge???
I'm going with wthie face, green backlight, SVT logo and either the black or brushed ring when I get mine ordered. I'm going a 2 gauge A pillar. Top will scroll b/w A/F and Boost PSI and bottom will scroll fuel pressure and oil pressure.... I may do some others scrolling in there of the car's PCM

Re: air fuel gauge???
yeah i think when i eventually change them out i'll go with 2 of those and an innovative wideband. either that or i'll set up 3 of the aeroforce gauges and have one monitoring both banks individually for a/f
