2nd gear lock out at WOT at the drags
I had seven attemps at the track last nite. None were clean passes due to a 2nd gear lockout at WOT. I pulled one 1.8, five 1.7's and one 1.6 60'.
So I let a friend go to see if he could get it to work. He hit all shifts but had a slow 2.2 sixty foot so I told him he didn't hook like me and said it was in my head and I was trying to hard but I think it was that I was hooking a lot better so I was getting locked out. I was even slamming it several times and felt like I had no 2nd gear and never went into gear. Next I hammerd it and waited for the rpms to go down and walla it finally went in. So I know it's a WOT issue.
Anyone else having this issue? Anyone using the MGW or the JHR steel braided clutch line? If so at the drag strip?
I went ahead and ordered both to see if I can get this issue resolved so I can get that 11 second pass!

I was having the same problem with by stock shifter and the barton shifter, but WOT 1->2 shifts with the MGW shifter is smooth with no catching, binding, or lockout. From what I understand it has something to do with the reverse lockout tab on the stock lower shifter assembly, which the MGW replaces (the only shifter that does that I believe). This tab allows the shifter to "catch" from 1->2. The MGW is wicked, you're going to love it! I haven't tried it out at the strip but I plan on it soon. Let me how it turns out for you.

On another note, with the 3.73s, do you end up having to shift to 5th on the strip?

No but pretty close. 6800 rpms or so. May end up with the boss intake when all said and done

Yeah I figured you would be pretty close. I've been kicking around the idea of the boss intake. Not real sure if the performance gains are worth it but it sure does look pretty under the hood...

I just want to test it out. I will eventually get the vortech so boss intake will go with it.

How long did it take for you to get the MGW?
