Best deal on new tires?
Rear tires on the Shelby are about done. Most likely going with Continental DW's. Anyone know where I can find the best deal other than the usual tirerack.com discounttire.com, tiresdirect.com ect?

Re: Best deal on new tires?
Ive seen a few better deals on ebay, but also heard those tend to be older tires that were unsold. I know Jerry has used discounttiredirect a few times with good results.
If i ever get money again thats who im using for new tires.

I'll be looking at Nitto's NT01 or the Toyo R888. As much as i drive mine... wear doesn't mean a lot.

Re: Best deal on new tires?
Not sure what size wheel, im guessing 20s. But if 18s i got the dw's for 160$ each in 275/40/18 versus 240$ for the 275/35/18, guess that particular size is on sale at tire rack. So be sure to check different sizes in the same tire.

Discounttire is the best deal. They are true free shipping with the lowest prices around. They have a warehouse in Dallas and I have gotten stuff next day from them.

Re: Best deal on new tires?
Tires have been ordered.
Went with the Continental Extreme Contact DW 285/35ZR19. Very good reviews in dry and wet, have an excellent tread wear at 340 compared to 220 wear on the OEM Goodyear F1s. From what I hear traction is much improved over the stock Crapyears.
They say these tires are comparable to the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s, we shall see

Re: Best deal on new tires?
Ditto. Longer treadwear means harder compound which normally means a trade off for lesser handling. They have been getting great reviews so it will be interesting to see what you think.
Thanks for being the "practice girl" !

Re: Best deal on new tires?
They are better than the Goodyears when temps are below 50 degrees, so I should expect better traction in colder weather. They definitely arent drag radials, but from what I have read these tires are night and day better than the OEM F1s.
So a higher tread wear rating in this case (compared to OEM) doesnt mean worse traction...In my eyes I am not giving up any traction to the stockers and I am gaining tread wear "life". Sounds good to me
I will report back

Re: Best deal on new tires?
Hopefully these tires last! Expensive to replace. Need to find a good deal on 15" race star drag rims and slicks for racing, save my radials for daily driving

Re: Best deal on new tires?
Be careful with online tire sales. You know that tires have a shelf life and as they approach this date the manufacture sells them at a discounted price to these online guys. I was going to buy replacements for my truck and when I called the online store they told me their tires are not over 3 years old. How is that new?
