I decided my right rear wheel was lonely and wanted to introduce it to a curb. Didn't work out very well. So, I need to get it fixed. Anyone hear of Wheel Works? On their web page they say they are opening a shop in Tulsa. They are located in the stockyards in OKC. I plan on taking it there NLT Wednesday unless any of you have a higher rcomendation or don't think they do a good job. Ballpark figure is $130.00

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. Haven't heard of them. There was a thread somewhere where someone curbed a wheel and had it fixed not too long ago. I'll see if I can find it.

I went ahead and went with Wheel Works. The damage was like Ryan's but about 10X's worse. I didn't take before pics. I just didn't want to look at it. Anyway, Wheel Works only accepts the wheel/tire (you have to take it off) they strip the paint, add metal material (I assume it is aluminum) machine the wheel, repaint it to match, balance the wheel and then tire. Cost will be about $150.00 and if you look at the curb rash web page they link to Wheel Works anyway. I appreciate your guys' input but I believe Wheel Works was more appropriate for the damage I had. I will take pics and post when I get it back and try to get them to take a before pic.

UPDATE:
As it turns out Wheel Works could not match the paint and because they had tried to do a wheel like mine earlier and could not match the paint they ended up painting the other three wheels also. Basically, they did no work and I p/u'd the wheel. So, since I have a $100.00 deductible and my premium will not go up, I filed a claim for a new wheel and tire. Adjuster should be looking at it next week and cut me a check.

Wheel Works claims they will be able to match the paint this summer but who knows. They did not call one time to update me and when I called the last of two times in a week, that's when I was told about the paint.

Insurance paid me $2380. I can get a new wheel for $1177 and new tire for $449. So I guess I will try to make the old tire work until spring, get a new one and burn off the old ones and then buy another one and put two new tires on. Also, I am going to get the 2012 splash guards. Save the old wheel until it can be repaired and either keep it or try to sell it for 500 to 600 bucks. If it is safe to do so. I will have pics with the wheel so the buyer will know. Anyways, if it is not the right thing to do let me know. I DO NOT WANT SCREW ANYONE.

I'd say a little rash that was repaired shouldn't be a big deal. Might just keep it for yourself as a backup? If not I see no harm selling it as long as the price reflects accordingly.

It it's still holding hair and not cracked, I would say keep it as a full size spare. It's better to have a wheel with a little rash than a donut.

I thought about keeping it as a spare but since the tires are directional I really can't mount a tire on it and if I did it would only be good for the rear passenger side or driver side rear but not both. Also, I did not know this, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2s, are run flat. Good for 50 miles running less than 50 mph. Anyway, I will be holding on to it for quite awhile because I will not sell as is. I want to get it repaired and painted and put the info out and if someone is willing to pay a fair amount I'll let it go. If I sent it back to Ford they'd give me $50.00 for the "core". When I get it repaired I will post it.

Y'all are NOT going to believe this. I took the new rim to Goodyear to have the TPMS and tire taken off the old rim and put on the new one. They freakin' scratched it all to heck. I had to submit two estimates and now I am waiting for their corporate office to call me. I am so ticked off. The manager at the store didn't even try to deny it, he could tell just by looking at it. A friend of mine who works for Goodyear tells me since the wheel is so expensive that the dude who worked on the rims will get fired. I feel a little bad but my gosh how difficult is it to put a tire on a rim w/out tearing it up?

Well, the wheel was delivered to Goodyear today. I am getting it installed Saturday. The manager said corporate told them to handle it at the store level. Apparently, they have four tire changing machines, three specifically for aluminum wheels and one for steel rims. Guess which one they used. The other three have plastic on the contact points to the rims. The one they used didn't. He also told me it was the third rim that got screwed up. He said there was a personnel change.

Thanks guys for all your comments. Goodyear put the tire on the rim and no scratches. For some reason they decided to use a floor jack instead of a lift. I noticed they had the floor jack under the rear axle and I had read that is not a good jack point for the rear. I asked them to to put a 2X4 on the jack and lift from the side . They did as I asked. Anyway, I also change the brake pads to ceramic and I noticed the squeak went completely away and very low brake dust.
