Car Noises Empty Car Noises

Post by Corepuncher 11/15/2011, 12:48 pm

Does anyone else have a "whining" noise when they turn tight corners like in a parking lot? I thought it was power steering, but someone else told me they thought it sounded like it was coming from the rear end. Is that "normal"?

I also have a vibration at 75+ mph. Gonna get the tires rebalanced and see if that helps. Didn't have it with stock rims so I hope those rims I bought aren't faulty or something.

Speaking of balancing, I have been trying to find a place that does high speed, on car wheel balancing. I cannot find such a place.

hmm... aside from just "whining" what does it sound like?

Power steering would be more of a squeal, but I haven't heard of Mustangs having that issue since they left the New Edge body style in 04.

The vibration I would say alignment or balancing.

Don't know of anyone that does them on the car.

When I drive straight there is no sound, just sounds kinda like a "motor" sound but the ford guy who drove in my car (I was trying to show him 1-2 grind) said it sounded like a rear end noise. Our cars don't even have regular power steering, at last no fluid reservoir I think it's just electric.

Yes. I think it's common on the GT500's. It's the clutch paks in the rear end. I get it slightly when the rear end it heated up.

It's not bad, but I still need to have it checked out since it's under warrentee.

get it fixed while it's free... and if they have to replace the clutch packs, tell them to upgrade the gearing while they're in there...

I'm gonna take it to a different dealership this time, maybe Bob Moore. Reynolds Ford sucks.

Ask for Barrett Determan if you call Joe Cooper, he's the GM and a member on Deadhorse.

Yea,not much to do about that noise, normal noise per ford. Turn up the radio and get use to it, drove one with 500 miles and had the noise, some worse than others.

Ask Jake about his, His got real noisy once he did the suspension upgrades, but for the most part you only hear it when you are turning. Get a louder radio or exhaust and rear end noise problem is solved. Or sell it while you can and get a 2013!!
